Reports of flooding and road closures in Hillsdale, Saddle Brook, Allendale, Glen Rock, Ho-Ho-Kus, Midland Park and Ridgewood.

Heavy Rain has caused flooding on Route 17 in both directions in the area of Racetrack Road in Ho-Ho-Kus

Route 17 near Racetrack Road all northbound lanes are closed and south bound detoured

how come the d p w of ridgewood was not called out. what the hell is going on in town. I’am in town for over 40,years and I see roads that are full of water. I turn on my village fire and police radio and hear all towns around us police calling that town d p w. something is not right. I would like to know why we are not using the village services that we all pay for. who is doing the work. no one, or some one else. how come the boss from the d p w is not called out. do I call the police to do the d p w ,s work for now on.

yes what is happening. I seen the same thing on east saddle road. the roads had a good foot of water going across the road and no d p w trucks around. I called the office and no one picked up.I called the 911 center and they said that they did not call any one out. I said well they are needed over rt,17 the person who picked said that the town don’t like to pay the over time for the worker’s. I said what, they said yes. my god some one is going to get hurt. the fire and police need to call out the dept that handles this sort of a thing. this is not good for the village.

What is the DPW going to do. Sit and stare at the water going down while get call out pay and overtime. Please!

Once the water has fallen, you are correct, there is not much that can be done. However, what about pre-emptive work? Make sure storm drains are clean, making sure drains in high risk areas are vacuumed out once a year.

to the last two.I live in a high risk and the town comes and cleans my drains. the problem that i see is some people need to stop plowing out the leaves and grass into the road. and for the please , it sounds like your a cop???. because thats what they did last night.zipo please you sound like a real jack ass. and for the pre- emptive work, well with what work force.I ‘am in town for over 45,years and the d p w is down to half, so I would think they are doing half the amount of work. and don’t come up with some story with do more with less. tell that to your wife. you sound like a pin head.
