Wyckoff Nj, Wyckoff police Department has issued a traffic alert due to a water main break on Wyckoff avenue .

MOTORIST ALERT. 5/29/19

Wyckoff Avenue between Cedar Hill Avenue and Hampshire Court is currently closed to through traffic.

Ridgewood Water has advised that they are still performing an emergency repair to restore a water main pipe.

Please drive carefully, follow posted detours and plan an alternate route.

Ridgewood NJ, As New Jersey residents prepare to celebrate Memorial Day and the unofficial start of summer, the Division of Consumer Affairs and the U.S. Product Safety Commission today kicked off “Summer Safety Week” to raise awareness of the increased risk of injury that warm weather brings.

“For many people, the months between Memorial Day and Labor Day are the most fun and exciting months of the year. But summer activities come with preventable risks, especially for children,” said Paul R. Rodríguez, Acting Director of the Division of Consumer Affairs. “As we head into the Memorial Day weekend, we’re urging consumers to learn how to avoid seasonal risks to themselves and their children so that everyone stays safe while enjoying summer activities.”

DePhillips and DeCroce shed light on potential savings in public-private partnerships

Wyckoff NJ,  A measure permitting public-private partnerships for energy-related projects cleared a legislative committee today creating an opportunity for more savings say Assemblyman Christopher DePhillips and Assemblywoman BettyLou DeCroce.

“Everyone will see savings as a result of this legislation,” said DePhillips (R-Bergen). “We won’t burden our taxpayers for energy upgrades in our public schools and municipal buildings.  Public entities can get a more energy efficient infrastructure and the private companies can use the utility savings.”

“So the problem of carrying food home is a false argument: someone goes to the store and carries their own bags, which are empty, they carry the bags home, full. Whether or not they carry their own bags to the store has NO bearing on what they are carrying home! They are carrying the same weight home whether or not they carry their own bags into the store.
