Fort Lee NJ, This year marked the 73rd anniversary of the Korean War. On Saturday, June 24th, the KAAFL – Korean American Association in Greater Fort Lee 포트리 한인회and VFW Cairola-Barber Post 2342 held a ceremony commemorating the anniversary. The event began at 10:30am at the Korean War Veterans Memorial Statue located at Abbott Boulevard & Central Boulevard.

Fort Lee NJ, Martin Kim, the new owner of the Southpole Building, located at 222 Bruce Reynolds Boulevard in Fort Lee, met with Mayor Mark Sokolich and Councilman Harvey Sohmer this afternoon to introduce himself as a business owner and a new member of the community. Kim is the owner of a South Korean home appliance company called Winia Electronics America, Inc., which the building will be named after. Mr. Kim said he is looking forward to becoming an active member of the community and presented the Mayor with a $3000 check for the Fort Lee Charitable Foundation for Fort Lee. We welcome Mr. Kim to Fort Lee and thank him for his generosity.

PORT AUTHORITY OPENS NEWLY RENOVATED BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN WALKWAY ON NORTH SIDE OF GEORGE WASHINGTON BRIDGE

Fort Lee NJ, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey today opened the newly renovated and fully accessible north walk of the George Washington Bridge, significantly improving the experience for bicyclists, pedestrians, and users with mobility challenges. Replacement of the bridge’s northside original steel suspender cables and associated closure of the path below the cables as part of the agency’s $2 billion Restoring the George program created an opportunity for the Port Authority to overhaul the path, including the replacement of the 171 access steps with gentler widened accessible approach paths to allow seamless connection from adjacent streets.
