State Comptroller Matthew Boxer has won the second Byron Baer Award from Bergen Grassroots for his role in the development of Bergen County’s pay-to-play ordinance.
Boxer will accept the award in a ceremony on March 28 at 7 p.m.in the auditorium of the Ethical Culture Society of Bergen County at 687 Larch Ave. in Teaneck.
The Bergen County freeholders adopted a pay-to-play law in December that limits the amount of campaign contributions that people doing business with the county government can make to county candidates. (Ensslin, The Record)
