Trenton NJ, State Police Office of Target Hardening to Deploy Troopers to Transportation and Religious Centers

Beginning this week, troopers from the Office of Target Hardening will conduct security operations as well as public awareness contacts at transportation locations and religious facilities throughout the state in preparation of religious holiday gatherings. So, what does this mean?

Well, you can expect to see troopers from the Special Operations Section and Tactical Patrol Unit conducting operations in and around transportation centers and religious facilities. You’ll also see uniformed troopers speaking with citizens about our “See Something, Say Something” campaign, which encourages the public to report any suspicious activity to law enforcement.

What you won’t see are the troopers who will be in plain clothes providing another layer of protection, but rest assured, they’ll be there. Don’t get the wrong idea. This detail is not in response to any specific threats. This is a Target Hardening Deployment, which is part of our homeland security mission. And that mission cannot be fully realized without your participation.

So remember, if you See Something, Say Something. To report suspicious activity, call 1-866-4-SAFE-NJ, email [email protected], or call 911. For more information, go to www.njhomelandsecurity.gov.
