Bayhead NJ, This weekend marks the unofficial end of the summer season, which means many will be on the roads enjoying the final days of sunshine and warm temperatures. Residents and tourists alike can expect increased traffic and congestion on our roadways and waterways this weekend. Responsible vehicle operation both on and off of the water is the first step to ensuring a safe holiday for everyone.

During the 2018 Labor Day holiday period, two of the seven fatal crashes in New Jersey involved impairment from alcohol or drugs as a contributing factor. If you plan on drinking alcohol this weekend, don’t make a bad decision by getting behind the wheel. Tragedies can be avoided by calling a taxi, using transportation applications such as Uber and Lyft, having a designated driver, or making plans to stay where you are.

the staff of the Ridgewood blog

Trenton NJ, New Jersey State Police , “On this day forty-six years ago, Trooper Werner Foerster made the ultimate sacrifice in service to his fellow troopers and the citizens of our State. As an organization, we ensure that every trooper, past and present, honored with wearing the blue and gold uniform of a New Jersey State Trooper remembers the life and death of Trooper Foerster, but it is equally important that the public also remembers,” said Colonel Patrick Callahan of the New Jersey State Police. “Our pursuit of Joanne Chesimard will not cease until she is returned to New Jersey to serve out the remainder of her prison sentence for the brutal murder of Trooper Werner Foerster. We owe it to the Foerster family, the State Police Family, and every family member who has suffered the devastating loss of a loved one killed in the line of duty.”

Did not the state of NJ PBA Endorse all Democrats ?

the staff of the Ridgewood blog

Trenton NJ, A statement from the New Jersey State Police in response to the recent Fox News story called “Conference featuring 2020 Dems begins with fiery chant quoting fugitive cop-killer Assata Shakur”

Ridgewood even hosted a group that promoted cop killer Joanne Chesimard.

“It is an affront to every man and woman who wears the badge that someone would choose to evoke the words of a convicted cop killer and fugitive from justice at a political conference. The men and women of the New Jersey State Police will never forget the sacrifice made by Trooper Werner Foerster on May 2, 1973 nor will we forget that the person convicted of his murder remains a fugitive for nearly 40 years. We will remain steadfast, both in the pursuit of Joanne Chesimard and in the preservation of the memory of Trooper Werner Foerster, Badge #2608.”

“Gone but never forgotten.”

– Colonel Patrick Callahan, New Jersey State Police
