Governor Murphy has signed a bipartisan resolution sponsored by Senator Kristin Corrado that would honor first responders throughout the state by designating October of each year as First Responders Appreciation Month.

Ridgewood Emergency Services holds its TIES (Teenagers in Emergency Services) training in CPR

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Emergency Services held its TIES (Teenagers in Emergency Services) training in CPR at it’s recent drill night. Over 40 High School students learning CPR for the first time and several refreshing their skills. They are the First Responders on scene when seconds count, be it at home, at school, on the street or at the mall. Learning CPR and volunteering with Ridgewood Emergency Services are valuable skills. The teens are our future EMTs, Paramedics, Doctors, Nurses, Police Officers and Firefighters.

Starbucks to offer free Coffee to front-line Responders Throughout December

Ridgewood NJ, In response to the recent rise in COVID-19 cases and to recognize the significant efforts of the front-line responder and health care community, Starbucks announced today that it will offer a free tall brewed coffee (hot or iced) to front-line responders at participating U.S. Starbucks stores throughout the month of December to show appreciation for those keeping our communities safe during COVID-19.

An Individual with Fever, Cough, Breached a Point Temperature Screening Station at the Valley Medical Group’s 1200 East Ridgewood Avenue

Ridgewood NJ, if you were in 1200 East Ridgewood Avenue on Wednesday afternoon, 11/04, please be advised  : An individual with fever, cough, and difficulty breathing reportedly breached a ground level entry point temperature screening station at the Valley Medical Group’s 1200 East Ridgewood Avenue building, and made his/her way up to a 3rd floor physician’s office suite on Wednesday afternoon, 11/04. Police, fire, ambulance, and paramedics, outfitted in apropos personal protective equipment, were observed entering the building to aid the victim, who was seen being removed on a stretcher and loaded into a waiting ambulance. The Valley Medical Group’s Patient Relations office was notified of the apparent protocol breach by a patient of the affected physician’s office. #valleymedicalgroup

Attorney General’s Office Investigating Death of Man Following Arrest Today in Totowa

TOTOWA NJ,  The Attorney General’s Office is conducting an investigation into the death of a 51-year-old man, who died earlier today after he was arrested by a New Jersey state trooper during a motor vehicle stop outside the State Police Totowa Substation. The man was placed under arrest after the state trooper discovered suspected narcotics in his vehicle.

Vehicle Collides with Beverage Truck at North Maple and Linwood Avenues in Ridgewood

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Fire Department personnel used a set of handheld forcible entry tools to free the adult female driver of a Toyota RAV4 who was pinned in her vehicle after it collided with a beverage delivery truck at the intersection of North Maple Avenue and Linwood Avenue early Wednesday evening, 06/01.

The victim sustained a serious head injury and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. A paramedic unit from The Valley Hospital assisted at the scene. The heavily damaged Toyota was removed by a tow truck

Ridgewood NJ,  A passerby called 911 to report an adult male experiencing a life threatening medical emergency in an automobile parked on North Broad Street in Ridgewood on Wednesday morning, 02/17.

Ridgewood PD, FD, and EMS personnel, along with a paramedic unit from The Valley Hospital, were on the scene in rapid succession to begin administering medical aid. The patient was transported to The Valley Hospital by a Ridgewood EMS ambulance.
