Ridgewood NJ, The Ridgewood Art Institute is home to many talented artists. We welcome you to visit us and view our Annual Members’ Holiday Show and Sale, usually featuring over 150 pieces of beautiful artwork. Portraits, Landscapes, Seascapes and Still Lifes are all represented in this exhibition executed in watercolor, pastels and oils. Among our membership there are artists who have made the study of Art their lifetime ambition as well as those who are just beginning their Art journey. Art Enthusiasts will have the opportunity to see the quality of work available for sale at our many events and Artists can explore the options of starting a new class or medium. A portion of all proceeds benefit The Ridgewood Art Institute.

Please join us for our 2nd Annual Plein Air Paint Out!
This year we will be hosting in our gardens at The Ridgewood Art Institute.
The Ridgewood Craft and Art Street Fair is 12-5pm that day and we are just a short walking distance away.
• Live costumed models with props and inspiring still life set ups, will be provided. Further details to be announced
• Artists should bring their own easels and paint supplies
• There is no registration fee – but donations will be appreciated!

A great opportunity to share the day with family and friends too!

Ridgewood NJ, Plein Air painting is about leaving the four walls of your studio behind and experiencing painting and drawing in the landscape. The practice goes back for centuries but was truly made into an art form by the French Impressionists.

Please join us for our first art show to exclusively feature Plein Air sketches by our members. All pieces in this show will have been done while on location, with no further reworking done in studio. The results reflect a freshness and immediacy that can only be achieved by working in this manner.

Classes are offered on an open enrollment basis, and can be joined at anytime.

Opening Reception: Sunday, January 28th, 2-4pm- An Opening Reception and Awards Ceremony will be held at the Ridgewood Art Institute. Light refreshments will be served. Over $5,000 in awards and prizes, including a $1,000 grand prize, will be presented by the RAI President. Prize winners or representatives must be present at the awards ceremony. Professional and non-professional works will be judged on an equal basis by a qualified jury. Only accepted works will be exhibited.

Please join us to Paint Out
in Downtown Ridgewood during The Ridgewood Guild’s Music Festival
• Register in the RAI tent located in the park from 12 to 1
• Paint from 1 to 3:30 (please note that the Music Festival
will take place in the park from 1 to 6)
• Join us along Ridgewood Ave. near the park to display and sell
(if desired) your plein air paintings from 4-6.
• Artists should bring their own easels and paint supplies*
• There is no registration fee – but donations will be appreciated!
Painting subjects will range from
musicians – to the crowd -to downtown scenes.
A great opportunity to share the day with family and friends too!
