NORTHVALE MAN, CHARGED WITH POSSESSION AND DISTRIBUTION OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY

Northvale NJ, Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo announced the arrest of COREY W. BARRACLOUGH (DOB: 10/05/1990; single; and unemployed) of 418 East Avenue, Northvale, New Jersey on the charges of Possession Of Child Pornography, greater than 1,000 files and Distribution Of Child Pornography, greater than 1,000 files. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti.

On Thursday, August 23, 2018, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at the residence of Corey W. BARRACLOUGH. He was not home at that time, but he was subsequently located in the Port Jervis, New York area by Cyber Crimes Unit detectives with the assistance of the Deerpark, New York Police Department. The investigation revealed that BARRACLOUGH used the Internet to view, possess, and distribute approximately 2,400 digital files depicting nude or sexually explicit images of prepubescent and pubescent children. In addition, the investigation revealed that BARRACLOUGH was chatting online with minor females believed to be between the ages of 10 and 16. This aspect of the investigation is ongoing in conjunction with detectives of the New York City Police Department.

On August 23, 2018, Corey W. BARRACLOUGH was charged with one count of Possession Of Child Pornography, in an amount greater than 1,000 files, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4(B)5(B)ii, a 2nd degree crime, and Distribution Of Child Pornography, in an amount greater than 1,000 files, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4(B)5(A)i, a 2nd degree crime. BARRACLOUGH was taken into custody by the Deerpark, New York Police Department pending extradition proceedings.

Acting Prosecutor Calo states that the charges are merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Acting Prosecutor Calo thanks the Northvale Police Department, the Deerpark, New York Police Department, and the New York City Police Department for their assistance with this case, as well as the Lyndhurst Police Department, which participates in the Bergen County Cyber Crimes Task Force.
