Hackensack NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of DR. ANDREA PERRONE (DOB: 08/28/1968; single; owner of Perrone Family Wellness, Hackensack, NJ) of 93 Rochelle Parkway, Saddle Brook, NJ, on charges of violating a provision of the New Jersey Insurance Fraud Prevention Act. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti and the National Insurance Crime Bureau under the direction of Mid-Atlantic Regional Director Gary Healy.
In October 2018, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Financial Crimes Unit received a complaint against Dr. Andrea PERRONE, who was suspected of violating a provision of the NJ Insurance Fraud Prevention Act.
An investigation revealed that between December 2015 and October 2018, PERRONE used another individual to act as a runner, specifically by making payments to and receiving pecuniary benefits for patients that were referred to him in violation of the “runner” provision of the NJ Insurance Fraud Prevention Act.
As a result of the investigation, PERRONE was arrested on May 28, 2019 and charged with one count of violating a provision of the NJ Insurance Fraud Prevention Act, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:21-22.1, a 3rd degree crime. PERRONE is scheduled for a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at 8:30 a.m.
Prosecutor Musella states that this charges is merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and he would like to thank the National Insurance Crime Bureau and the Saddle Brook Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
