I’m in the real estate market in the village, and we have close to 200 homes for sale. 40% of them are senior citizens, the rest are people that are bailing out. And they all tell me that this town is overrated. The schools are not number one anymore, the services are not the same they have declined, and the taxes are too high. This is what they are alerting me to.

  1. Can we see the complete survey of the 200 homeowners? I am selling and I don’t think it is overrated. Somehow you missed me when tabulating your results.

  2. All true.

  3. NJMLS has 94 houses listed for sale right now in Ridgewood – where on earth did you get 200 houses on the market right now?

  4. NJMLS has 94 homes listed for sale in Ridgewood right now, where are you seeing 200 houses on the market?

Additionally, I know of at least 5 houses that either recently sold or are under contract to Ridgewood families that are moving within Ridgewood – not everyone is moving out and not everyone is moving out because they want to i.e. job transfers

  5. I just looked online five minutes ago 192 houses are on the market in the village of Ridgewood look on the Trulia and that’s not even mentioning homes for sale by owner’s so it’s over 200 look for yourself get the facts before you open your mouth look stupid , and that’s no bullshit

  6. Your figures are 100% wrong and worse yet, don’t tell the complete picture. There are currently 94 homes for sale in Ridgewood, not 200. There are over 7,400 homes in Ridgewood, so 94 is hardly significant. You fail to point out that median home prices have gone up in Ridgewood more than in the surrounding towns. You also failed to mention that homes for sale in Ridgewood stay a very short number of days on the market. This all means that for every person who is selling, there are a lot more folks looking to buy. If you really are in the real estate market, you need to brush up on your data and the principles of supply and demand. Stop spreading false rumors just to get people to sell and feed your business. I’m sure the regulators may take issue with what you are trying to do

  7. From the NJMLS, current active listings – Single Family 91, Condo/Townhouse 3, 2-4 Family 2, Under contract from all categories 70. Therefore, there are 166 in all categories on the market. Trailing 12-months, 326 single family homes sold, 7 condo/townhouse and 6 2-4 family.

    It’s a healthy balanced market.

  8. If your in the Real Estate market and your just being “alerted” with regards to the above remind me not to buy a house from you.
We all know that the town is completely out of control, we all know that the school system is way overrated and the cesspool that is village hall and the union thugs that run it have completed their task. They have ruined the town. And don’t listen to the newbies above that just landed here and refuse to believe that they fu&@$? Up. Take a look around…it’s pretty oblivious.

  9. 1257… if its that bad, move.

  10. ,,when I see a properly priced home there is usually an “under contract ” sign attached a few weeks later.
When I see a delusionally priced house it sits on the market for a loooooong time
Price it at assessed value…it will sell.
    Don’t watch too much hgtv

  11. ANY house in ANY neighborhood that is PRICED RIGHT will sell.

That does not change the fact that Ridgewood is a mere shadow of its former glory.

  12. I did 355…and your still there. Sucker born every day….
    Good luck with that.

  13. And when I put mine on the market it’ll move as quickly as every other reasonably priced property in town. I see no shortage of families happy to move here. I like it here and will stay for a while I guess.
