Morris Plains NJ, Running for Congress in the battleground 11th District, Assemblyman Jay Webber (R-26) this past weekend had a laugh on Facebook at a picture the Star-Ledger used next to his name.
“Hey The Star-Ledger! #FactsMatter. Pictures too. And that’s not me,” he cracked.
The Star-Ledger is the largest circulated newspaper in the state of New Jersey and is based in Newark. It is a sister paper to The Jersey Journal of Jersey City, The Times of Trenton and the Staten Island Advance, all of which are owned by Advance
The picture identified as Webber was actually former Assemblyman Gary Chiusano (R-26).
“It’s me. ,” Chusano wrote in the comments section under the picture of the newspaper page that Webber posted on his campaign’s Facebook page. “I served in the Assembly with Jay for 6 years and we were both on the Assembly Budget Committee. That’s probably how they got the pictures confused.”
Chiusano added, “Let’s make sure that my good friend Asm. Jay Webber wins in November so that there is no confusion in the future.”
