Stew Leonard’s in Paramus to Host Job Fair on July 13th

Stew Leonard’s, named to Fortune Magazine’s Top Companies to Work For list for 10 consecutive years, will host a job far on Saturday, July 13 from 9:00 a.m.  – 1:00 p.m.  The company is looking to fill 400 full-time and part-time positions at its first farm fresh food store in New Jersey, which will open this fall in the Paramus Mall.

Interested job candidates, who are age 18 and older are asked to fill out an online application via  The first 100 job fair attendees will receive an on-the-spot interview, if they have first filled out the online form.

Media are invited to attend the job fair and speak with candidates as well as Stew Leonard’s Hiring Manager.


80% of the products sold at Stew Leonard’s are fresh – that is, brought in daily or prepared in-store – which means the company employs many skilled butchers, fishmongers and chefs.  However, there are opportunities in every department, from entry level to team leaders and above, including:

  • Fish Cutter: cuts whole fish into steaks, filets, and other quality products according to standards and customer preference. Requires 1 to 3 years’ experience, with extensive product knowledge and ability to safely use and operate knives, scaler, mallet, and steel to sharpen knives.
  • Costumed Character: wears the Wow the Cow costume and provides entertainment to customers and their children while they shop.  Attend special events, as required (Halloween Trick-or-Treating, Easter Egg Hunt, Christmas Tree lighting, and birthday parties) and provide high fives and photo opportunities, at the request of the child(ren).  Entry level position; no prior experience required.
  • Cake Decorator: with an attention for detail, cake decorators decorate cakes, cupcakes and other desserts according to standards and customer preferences.  Entry level position; no prior experience required but preferred.
  • Deli Clerk: interact directly with customers at the service bars and aid by answering specific product questions, offering recommendations, packaging and pricing products ordered by customers at the service bar.  Entry level position; no prior experience required.
