the fly was wondering if Albert and Gwenn recused themselves from the close door session

The 3/25/2015 agenda posted on the Village website stated that the Council would discuss the Valley ligation in a closed session. The 64,000.00 dollar question would be ,did the Village Manager ask Mr. Rogers to tell Albert ,who has previously admitted a conflict  and Gwenn who despite overwhelming appearance to the contrary denies a conflict; to recuse themselves because of their previously mentioned conflict of interest with the hospital ? The presumption around town seems to be that they both attended and participated in the closed meeting . A fact which I am sure Mr Rogers vehemently objected to, not wanting anything to undermine that very lawsuit?

  1. The Village Manager was so concerned whether Councilwoman Susan Knudsen should recuse herself from the (Residency) discussion because Susan had relatives on the current police or fire list that she informed Mr. Roger who then suggested to Susan that she recuse herself even though it plainly stated that they were not going to discuss police or fire. When question about this at an open meeting Mr. Roger said something to the effect that you never know were these discussion lead to. Whats changed? If these two did not recuse themselves then how do we know that Valley Hospital maybe privy to inside information. Our Mayor should have know that this would be a hot button item and for transparency reasons he could have made an announcement prior to going into closed session that these two would not attend. I get it .They are just to busy taking care of the chamber and the developers that they don’t have time for civility or transparency

  2. in the end valley will win

  3. I remember when Ridgewood never had it’s own Hospital. (1948)

The future of Valley will still depend on it’s doctors and services they provide. Most near by residents weren’t even born yet. So be careful what agenda you recent resident push, you may cause more difficulties ..

  4. Its how they win that bothers me.

  5. News Watch what the hell does you post have to do with the story? Please stop trying to change the subject. The question is did they recuse themselves from the meeting not if the was a hospital there in 1948. who cares about that. If the valley wins the lawsuit then so be it but if they win because that have friends on the council that will really suck. GET IT DOM.

  6. Relax (bothered guy) you’ll have a heart attack. Then where will you go ?

  7. Anyplace but Death Valley. Thanks for your concern Dom

  8. Wow, this is an amazing point. So, what is the answer? Did they recuse themselves or not???

  9. “Death Valley”…what a hoot! You two bickering back and forth has its entertainment value, one must admit. Please keep it up.

  10. And the best id that we are friends.

  11. At this point, anything short of a public denunciation of Valley’s lawsuit against the Village and a vow to fight it to the end should require these two to resign the Council. Both swore an oath to act in the best interests of Ridgewood. I’m fine with their previous affiliation and support of the hospital but they each sought public office to serve all of their constituents – not just those that voted for them or agree with them.

  12. they should recuse since both have been shown to have an interest in valley. do these closed sessins inculude discussion? he recused from planning board only after it was exposed there was a conflict. nothing he was looking to do on his own. this should be looking into.
