Ridgewood NJ, The Ridgewood Police Department is currently seeking the public’s assistance in an ongoing investigation of a Fatal Hit-and-Run motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian. The crash occurred on Monday September 24, 2018 at approximately 7:20pm near the intersection of West Ridgewood Ave and Library Pl.
Evidence at the scene and surveillance video recovered from the area indicate that the striking vehicle is a dark colored SUV, but the make and model are unknown at this time.

  3. The BMW had stopped in the street to protect the pedestrian from being run over again. The driver was not involved in the incident other than being a good Samaritan.

  4. BMW DRIVER FOR MAYOR..SELFLESS ,IMMEDIATE AND CARING ,,SMART ON THEIR FEET. That action gave the victim a shot at emergency care,,sadly was not to be.

    people still jaywalking up near the accident especially early morning ..

  6. The BCPO has now identified the vehicle involved as a dark colored 2002-2009 Chevy Trailblazer. It entered Garber Square from under the train trestle and then made a right turn onto West Ridgewood Avenue before striking Mr. Rao.
