The Valley Hospital Hosts Pediatric Emergency Medicine Symposium

Ridgewood NJ , The Valley Hospital recently hosted its Second Biennial Pediatric Emergency Medicine Symposium 2013: Current Clinical Concepts. The symposium was presented by Valley’s Department of Emergency Medicine, the Pediatric Emergency Room, and the Department of Pediatrics.
The program focused on some of the challenging clinical concepts in pediatric emergencies that are faced on a daily basis by all clinicians who care for sick children. Topics included:
• Pediatric Asthma Update;
• Abuse of Prescription Opioids;
• Syncope (fainting) in Children; and
• Unusual Presentations of Common Pediatric Surgical Problems.
More than 150 physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals attended the symposium.
