Unlocked Cars Stolen in Township of Washington

Twp of Washington NJ, Twp of Washington police are investigating two car thefts and more than a dozen burglaries of cars that occurred early Saturday morning in a series of what appears to be connected crimes.
Both cars were stolen around 1 a.m Saturday and valuables such as money, credit cards and phones were taken from the vehicles, all of which were left unlocked at the time.

The Washington Township Police Department Detective Bureau is investigating and urged all residents to report any suspicious activity in a timely manner and lock all vehicles along with removing any valuables and key fobs.

  1. People who leave their valuables and keys in unlocked vehicles get what they deserve. Someone on my block had her car stolen last year, yet continues leaving her new car unlocked with the keys inside while parked in her driveway. How stupid is that?

  3. Thanks for the info. I leave my laptop and wallet in my car daily. Just another thing to remember in the morning. I’ll start putting it in the garage.

  4. And lock the car and lock the garage. Or really, take them inside.
