Ridgewood NJ – Meters ,meters , meters for ages this blog has asked why the antiquated use of parking meters instead of the new machines that print out parking tickets like many metropolitan ares New York City, or even the beach hamlet Point Pleasant among them
It did not go unnoticed all the nasty rage and attacks when we posted such articles. Its seemed odd even for Ridgewood to have such passion for Parking meters ?

* One-month euro/dollar implied vols rise again (Updates prices, adds more details on options)
NEW YORK, May 4 (Reuters) – The dollar slumped to a three-year low against major currencies on Wednesday and its outlook darkened further as surprisingly soft economic data underpinned expectations that U.S. interest rates will remain low this year.
The greenback also fell to a record low against the Swiss franc and against the yen fell below 80.50, the lowest level since major central banks intervened to weaken the Japanese currency on March 18.
Separate reports on Wednesday showed a sharp slowdown in the vast U.S. services sector and less hiring by private companies in April.

>STAR-LEDGER EDITORIAL BOARD ADMITS RGGI CAP & TRADE SCHEME NOTHING BUT A TAX!
Yesterday, the Star-Ledger editorial board tried to mount a defense of the RGGI Cap & Trade scheme. In their zeal to defend the indefensible, the seers at The Star-Ledger admitted the truth: RGGI is nothing but a tax!
Indeed, the Star-Ledger editorialists state that the RGGI Cap & Trade scheme should be kept in order to “help balance the state budget.” Further, they opine that:
“…the state needs the money. Christie grabbed all the $65 million to help balance the budget this year. Our hope is that he will divert some of it to green energy programs.”
Put another way, the Ledger editorialists are fine with the RGGI Cap & Trade tax so long as a few pennies go to feel-good “green” programs that will have no impact on the environment and so-called “global climate change.”
In fact, the Ledger editorialists even admit that the RGGI Cap & Trade scheme was intended to get the proverbial foot in the door:
“The main point was political – it was a first, small step, an attempt to prod Washington to act by showing how a cap-and-trade system might work.”
Your electricity rates “necessarily skyrocketing” and jobs being lost in New Jersey? That would just be the logical price to pay down the road.
The Ranks of Legislators Supporting the Repeal of the RGGI Cap & Trade Tax Grows
The momentum to withdraw New Jersey from RGGI and repeal this economically destructive energy tax continues to grow. Within the past week, Senator Jeff Van Drew (D-01) and Senator Diane Allen (R-07) have signed on as co-sponsors.
The repeal legislation now has the support of 44 lawmakers – including 15 in the Senate and 28 in the General Assembly.
Help keep the pressure on!
Contact Governor Christie at 609-292-6000 and let him know that you will support him in pulling New Jersey out of RGGI!

>PSE&G and Matrix Development Group Cut Ribbon on New Solar Systems
Rooftop Systems Feed Solar Electricity Directly Into Grid; Part of Utility’s Solar 4 All Program
Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G) and Matrix Development Group today marked the completion of two rooftop solar installations at adjacent Matrix-owned buildings in Perth Amboy, NJ. The 2.8-megawatt (MW) project is part of PSE&G’s Solar 4 All™ program that is spurring economic growth in New Jersey and creating jobs while economically increasing New Jersey’s renewable energy capacity.
Solar 4 All is a two-tiered approach that will over three years develop 80 solar megawatts – enough power to serve about 13,000 average-sized New Jersey homes. The program is structured so the financial benefits – the value of the solar credits (SRECs), federal tax credits and the sale of the solar energy – are returned to customers by offsetting the overall cost of the program.
“It’s hard to beat energy that’s pollution-free and can be produced and distributed locally, using the grid to benefit as many people and businesses as possible,” said Al Matos, PSE&G’s Vice President – Renewables and Energy Solutions. “We are providing solar power and developing the New Jersey solar market in a cost effective way.”
The Partner in Charge, Richard F.X. Johnson, runs Matrix Renewable Energy Services, a division of Matrix Development Group of Cranbury, NJ.
“This project represents a significant step forward for New Jersey in helping to achieve the state’s goal of being a recognized leader in the renewable energy arena,” said Johnson. “As a company steadfastly committed to energy-efficiency best practices, Matrix is strongly aligned with the mission of PSE&G’s Solar 4 All program to expand New Jersey’s solar capacity for the benefit of all residents and business owners in the state.”
The Matrix buildings are located at 1000 & 1050 Amboy Avenue in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. The two solar systems are comprised of 10,395 crystalline solar panels. The panels cover more than 217,000 square feet of roof space in total and are connected directly to the electric grid for the benefit of all PSE&G electric customers. They will produce enough solar electricity to power about 470 average-size homes.
“This project exemplifies Solar 4 All’s innovative approach to developing solar resources while preserving open space,” Matos said. “Large warehouse roofs are underserved real estate for solar development in New Jersey. By building these rooftop systems we are utilizing undeveloped space, providing a valuable source of revenue to building owners unlocking economic value and creating clean solar power for all of our electric customers to use.”
