Glen Rock NJ, a Bronx man has been arrested and charged after allegedly using counterfeit money at a CVS in Glen Rock earlier this year, police reported.
According to authorities, 31-year-old Kevin F. Vasquez was taken into custody by the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department last week in connection with an incident on January 2, when he allegedly passed $500 in counterfeit bills at the pharmacy.
An arrest warrant had been issued for Vasquez, and following his capture, Glen Rock Police Detective Lucas Doney formally charged him with third-degree forgery and third-degree theft by deception.
Vasquez was transported to the Bergen County Jail, where he is awaiting a court appearance at the Superior Court in Hackensack.
Authorities continue to investigate counterfeit-related crimes in the region, urging businesses and consumers to remain vigilant against fraudulent currency.
