Celebrate the Year of the Wood Snake at Ridgewood’s Lunar New Year Festival

Ridgewood NJ, Ring in the Lunar New Year with Ridgewood’s vibrant community at this year’s festival, celebrating the Year of the Wood Snake! The event will take place on Sunday at Ridgewood High School’s Campus Center, located at 627 E. Ridgewood Ave., from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This annual festival, hosted by Ridgewood’s Asian American and Pacific Islander Alliance, along with the Ridgewood Chinese American Association, and local Korean and Indian residents, promises a day filled with culture, delicious food, and family-friendly fun.

Event Highlights and Schedule

11:30 AM – 2:00 PM: Food, Crafts, and Games

Enjoy a variety of traditional Korean and Chinese dishes, including:

  • Lo Mein
  • Dumplings
  • Spring Rolls

Engage in fun activities:

  • Photo Booths
  • Craft Stations
  • Classic Asian games, inspired by popular culture (non-violent, of course!).

2:00 PM – 4:00 PM: Cultural Performances

Delight in a lineup of performances showcasing traditional and modern artistry, such as:

  • Korean Fan Dance by Heasun Jung Korea Traditional Academy of Arts
  • Chinese Tea Picking Dance
  • Taekwondo Demonstration
  • Instrumental and vocal acts

All-Day Activities

  • Vendor Booths: Shop for unique food and cultural items.
  • Sponsor Displays: Learn about local organizations and win exciting prizes.
