Union NJ , pay back time ,as schools around New Jersey prepare to open for the new year, U.S. Senator Bob Menendez was surrounded today by dozens of teachers and educational support professionals to proudly accept the endorsement of the New Jersey Education Association (NJEA), the state’s largest teachers union. The announcement was made at Jefferson Elementary in the Vauxhall section of Union.
“As the product of New Jersey’s public schools, I understand firsthand why it’s so important for every child to have a chance at a first-rate education and a high-quality teacher in the classroom. A good, quality public education is the backbone of a thriving community and a booming economy. New Jersey has among the best public school systems in the country, and I will never stop fighting to expand early education, to make sure our public schools are state-of-the-art and that our educators have the resources they need to ensure each student is given the keys to unlock their full potential,” said Sen. Menendez.
After all Democratic Senator Bob Menendez maybe good with children and accusations were made that he had a predilection for young and inexperienced prostitutes in the Dominican Republic and may have slept with a minor. These allegations however remain unproven .
The ethically challenged Menendez did escape federal criminal prosecution. But he couldn’t escape the judgment of his Senate colleagues.The bipartisan Senate Ethics Committee unanimously issued a rare rebuke , formally admonishing the senator for his conduct over a six-year period with his longtime friend and political ally Dr. Salomon Melgen.The panel said Menendez brought discredit to the Senate and ordered him to repay all impermissible gifts and refile his financial disclosure reports to reflect repayment.
I see Ridgewood decided to postpone the Teacher Appreciation Breakfast.

The teachers seem to act more childish than their students sometimes. Time to stop pouting and get busy. You just had the summer off.

Anyone teaching in the Ridgewood School System should be thankful that they are earning above average salaries in addition to the benefits and pension all NJ teachers receive. The whining is getting old. If you don’t like the arrangement, find another job. Teaching is a very difficult job and I could not be a teacher. I don’t begrudge them their packages but the constant complaining is tiring. As the above poster said, “You just had the summer off.” You should be refreshed. Try having 2 or 3 weeks off a year as your only respite from the daily grind!
All you have to do is look at the number of applicants for any opening for a teaching position at any Ridgewood school and you know the entire story. It is in the hundreds.

Teachers are knocking each other over to get into the RW school district. They know that getting tenure in RW school system is hitting the teaching jackpot.

But still the greed, self-righteousness and whining continue from many Ridgewood teachers.

They are knocking each other over to get a job here because of the pay not the reputation of the school district!
