Schumer’s Controversial Comments
The probe, led by Interim D.C. U.S. Attorney Ed Martin, focuses on Schumer’s speech during a rally outside the Supreme Court in March 2020. At the event, he warned the justices they would “pay the price” if they voted to overturn Roe v. Wade, the landmark abortion rights case.
Schumer addressed the crowd of abortion rights supporters, criticizing conservative-led efforts to restrict reproductive freedoms in states like Louisiana, Missouri, and Texas. Directing his remarks at Trump-appointed Justices Gorsuch and Kavanaugh, he said:
“I want to tell you, Gorsuch, I want to tell you, Kavanaugh, you have released the whirlwind, and you will pay the price. You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.”
The comments sparked immediate backlash, with critics accusing Schumer of threatening Supreme Court justices. Chief Justice John Roberts issued a rare public rebuke, calling the remarks “inappropriate” and “dangerous.”
Schumer Walks Back Remarks Amid Criticism
Facing mounting pressure, Schumer later clarified his remarks on the Senate floor, insisting that he had not intended to threaten the justices but had used “strong language” to express frustration over potential rulings that could restrict abortion rights.
DOJ’s Investigation into Possible Federal Violations
On January 21, U.S. Attorney Ed Martin issued a letter to Schumer, stating:
“We take threats against public officials very seriously. I look forward to your cooperation.”
The investigation will examine whether Schumer’s remarks violated federal laws prohibiting threats or intimidation against judges.
This probe comes amid a broader Justice Department effort to combat threats against public officials and enforce accountability for inflammatory rhetoric in political discourse.
Hakeem Jeffries Also Under Fire for Controversial Remarks
As tensions escalate in Washington, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) is facing criticism over his recent call to “fight in the streets” against Trump’s policies.
Speaking at a press conference, Jeffries denounced former President Donald Trump’s claims that DEI-driven hiring in air traffic control could have contributed to a recent aviation disaster. Trump vowed to roll back diversity hiring across federal agencies like the FAA.
Jeffries, in his closing remarks, declared:
“We’re gonna fight it legislatively, we are going to fight it in the courts, we’re gonna fight it in the streets.”

Wonder if this is a sign they’re moving Chuck out like they did with Cuomo and Menendez. The democrats always actively defend their own until they want to move them out and move in a DEI ‘check the box’ pre-selected candidate. Once they (Cuomo/Menendez) outlived their usefulness it’s “bye bye, see you, don’t want to be you” . Don’t be fooled by how they wrap it up to appear they are interested in the truth, they’re not and will never be.

I have completely faith that democrats can be held responsible no matter what they do. They have always been untouchable whether saying or doing despicable things. Nobody will touch Schumer but I hope I am wrong. Nothing will happen to Pelosi either.
