Carlstadt NJ, at approximately 3:30 am on April 13, 2023, a passenger vehicle traveling north on Route 17 near the Carlstadt Ice Company located at 517 Rt 17 North traveled off the roadway and crashed into a parked, unoccupied box truck located on the property of 517 Rt 17
The vehicle became engulfed in flames that were later extinguished by responding firefighters. The vehicle was occupied by only the driver who suffered fatal injuries. The identity of the driver is still unknown at this time and is being investigated by the Carlstadt Criminal Investigations Unit. Further information will be disseminated once available.
