Ridgewood NJ, according to Village Manger Keith Kazmark ,due to the excessively dry conditions this season, many trees throughout the Village have dropped their leaves earlier than expected, leading to an increase in leaf accumulation in our neighborhoods. Out of an abundance of caution for fire safety, the Department of Public Works will be expanding its leaf collection hours beginning Wednesday, November 13, 2024.
Work (including leaf blowing) will begin at approximately 5:00 am and could extend past dark in order to maximize leaf collection efforts. Leaves also will be collected on Saturday. Please note: Leaf blowers will be operating at half speed in order to minimize early-morning disruptions to residents.
Wildfires continue to burn in New Jersey. Please continue to follow Stage 3 Fire Restrictions. All fires are prohibited unless contained in an elevated stove using only propane, natural gas, gas or electricity. No word or charcoal fires are allowed. The fire ban applies to all public lands and private properties in all municipalities throughout the state.

Who is Mr. Kazmark trying to fool with his “beginning November 13” notice? Leaf pickup crews were working at 5:00AM last Saturday in the Schedler neighborhood with no advance notice. I guess our neighborhood doesn’t rate any consideration.
Nothing said about individualized notifications of when the pickup is occurring. You must be one of those dolts complaining about everything…. Boo hoo hoo, they didn’t tell me they were picking up, boo hoo hoo they didn’t pick up. Get off the blog and go back to watching MSNBC
I’ll get off the Blog and going back to watching MSNBC when you get off the Blog and start treating all taxpayers with the respect they deserve.
Expand? How about start?
They should be working every single Saturday like other towns get the leaves up, take advantage of the warm weather. Or it could be like in the past you get an early nor’easter rain and wind or snow and ice so far we are very lucky so what you’re saying is With the leaves fall on early the village should be done by the end of the year. That’s good.
Around the clock with triple overtime.
They got the money, and for MSNBC please, be careful what you believe from any channel news
