Bill Goodman from the National Weather Service emphasized that while heavy rains are on the way, it doesn’t mean the entire Northeast will be soaked. Bergen County is likely to receive around 2 inches of rain from Friday through Friday night. However, the most significant impact from the heavy rains and potential flooding will be felt in northwest New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
There may be some lingering showers on Saturday morning, but Goodman offered reassurance, stating, “We won’t be seeing the kind of rain and flooding North Jersey saw last night.”
Wednesday’s weather will remain cloudy, humid, and relatively cool, with temperatures hovering in the lower 70s throughout the day. A few showers are expected to continue into Thursday, but conditions may dry out later today and into tonight, Goodman mentioned.
Looking ahead to the weekend, Saturday’s forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies with an 80% chance of rain. However, by Sunday, residents can expect sunny skies along the Shore and throughout New Jersey, providing a pleasant end to the weekend.
