>Garrett Statement on Death of Osama bin Laden
WASHINGTON, May 2, 2011 – Rep. Scott Garrett (R-NJ) issued the following statement today on the death of 9/11 mastermind Osama bin Laden:
“I commend President Obama for his steadfastness and leadership in seeing this monster brought to justice, and I congratulate the United States military and our intelligence agencies for a successful mission. While justice has been served to Osama bin Laden, we still live in a very dangerous world. We have to remain vigilant in our efforts to bring justice to all other terrorists across the globe that seek to destroy our country and our way of life.
“Today, as we rejoice in this victory for freedom and democracy, let us not forget the victims of 9/11 and the families left behind. My thoughts and prayers are with all of the families and friends that lost loved ones on 9/11. While the death of Osama bin Laden can never replace their loss, I hope this act of justice helps fill the void and mend their broken hearts.”
