Glen Rock NJ, a 70-year-old Glen Rock resident, Daniel Miller, has been charged following a concerning encounter with a crossing guard stationed at a busy intersection, Glen Rock Police Chief Dean Ackermann announced.

Incident at Rock Road and Maple Avenue

The incident occurred on the afternoon of Tuesday, Nov. 26, at the intersection of Rock Road and Maple Avenue. According to police, Miller, driving a red 2011 Chrysler 200, honked his horn, shouted, and then slowly drove toward the crossing guard. At the time, the crossing guard was assisting children in safely crossing the street.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and all children crossed without harm.

Quick Thinking Leads to Identification

The crossing guard managed to capture a photo of Miller and his vehicle, which was critical in identifying him as the suspect. Following an investigation, police confirmed Miller’s involvement in the incident and subsequently charged him.

Charges Filed Against Miller

Miller is facing several charges, including:

  • Failure to stop for a pedestrian in the crosswalk
  • Reckless driving
  • Failure to obey a school crossing guard
  • Misuse of a horn or warning device

A Reminder for Driver Safety

This incident serves as an important reminder for drivers to exercise caution, particularly in school zones and around crosswalks. Crossing guards play a vital role in ensuring the safety of children and pedestrians, and their authority should always be respected.

Chief Ackermann emphasized the seriousness of the situation, stating, “The safety of our community, especially our children, is a top priority. Disregarding the instructions of crossing guards jeopardizes this safety and will not be tolerated.”

Let’s all commit to being vigilant and respectful on the road to keep our neighborhoods safe for everyone.

It’s almost time for Matlock on MeTV.

    1. I’d run over my mother before I miss Matlock.

      1. I almost missed an episode of Bonanza once this summer because of the damn Ridgewood road paving detours. I was not happy to say the least.

Thank goodness for the gummies…kept me zen. Otherwise I’m getting out of the car, grabbing my cane, and going street on those fools.

        1. Finally someone who gets it.

  4. His penalty should be three months as a crossing guard!

  5. What is his defense/excuse?
