Harvard’s Commitment to Financial Accessibility

Harvard’s financial aid expansion ensures that 86% of U.S. families now qualify for assistance. This is the latest enhancement since the Harvard Financial Aid Initiative launched in 2004, which has progressively increased coverage for tuition, food, and housing.

“By making Harvard accessible to a wider range of students, we’re fostering intellectual and personal growth through a diverse and talented student body,” said Harvard President Alan M. Garber.

Currently, 55% of undergraduates receive financial aid, with families paying an average of $15,700 for the 2023-24 year.

Harvard Joins Other Universities Expanding Aid

Harvard isn’t alone in expanding financial aid:
MIT eliminated tuition for students from families earning under $200,000
University of Texas System now offers free tuition for families making $100,000 or less
