Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, On Saturday, April 26, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the community is invited to roll up their sleeves and donate blood in memory of Molly Marie Pearson. The blood drive will take place at Ho-Ho-Kus Elementary School, 70 Lloyd Road, the very school where Molly began her educational journey as a kindergartener.
Molly was struck by a box truck while riding a motor scooter on the morning of November 2, 2021. She spent four days in the hospital fighting for her life, receiving more than 200 units of blood in the process. Her family says the medical team “emptied the blood bank” in their efforts to save her.
“She was so strong, and the doctors never gave up,” said Molly’s mother Margaret Pearson. “We can send people to the moon—but we can’t make blood. Every drop Molly received came from a generous donor. Now, the one thing I can do in her honor is try to give that blood back.”
The drive is not only a tribute to Molly’s spirit and compassion but also a reminder of the critical importance of blood donation. Donated blood saves lives every day, especially in trauma situations like Molly’s.
The family invites the public to help pay it forward by giving the gift of life in Molly’s name. One blood donation can save up to three lives.
