Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, Domenic Parisi, of Domenic & Pietro Barber Studio in Ho-Ho-Kus, a longtime New Jersey barber, has died of COVID-19.

Parisi or Domenic cut this bloggers hair along time ago but more notable  cut ex-President Richard Nixon’s hair when the former president lived in Bergen County .

Last week the Ridgewood blog had learned Domenic was very sick  but had not heard until Sunday that he had passed away .

All I know about the history of the barber shop was that back in 1970 the partners decided to try something new and offer hair care services for both men and women.

There is memorial building up at the front door of the Domenic & Pietro Barber Studio where Parisi worked for 50 years.

  1. Oh that’s terrible.
    What a nice man.

I got 2 haircuts there since the Governor opened things up again.

He had a long list of appointments but he found time to cut my hair.

    I had no idea…..that’s incredible.

  6. Obit on CBS radio.com says Dom was 77…

  7. Correct.
    Dom was 77 (76?)

I posted the age 91 post.
I mistakenly pulled up an Obit for Domenic Parisi from Rockaway NJ (died in 2016, age 91)

    Apologies for the mistake.

  16. As a long time customer of Dominic. I just learned of his death. A true gentleman and fine barber. He was always willing to let me pass along any new jokes what ever the “quality”. Joey, stay strong as we all respected Dad’s warm and genuine humanity which I will never forget. May he Rest In Peace. Bob Stevenson

  17. I’ve been going to Dominic & Pietro’s shop since 1972, for 48 years of perfect haircuts. Dominic and his 3 partner barbers have been terrific. I had tried one or two other barbers when we first moved to Ridgewood, then to Ho-Ho-Kus, but none came even close to the quality service of Dominic & Pietro, and to the fact that they all treated me as family. To say he will be missed would be a gross understatement. It is well known that President Nixon was Dominic’s regular customer, and I had the privilege of meeting him there several times.

  21. Dominic started cutting hair at Jule’s Barber Shop in Riveredge NJ. I was 14 and he was 16. He dated and married Linda Petrucco of River Edge. He was good at his craft. My mother always gave me an extra dollor for his tip. I moved away and I went to see him in their shop. As I walked in the door he stopped cutting and greeted me with a hug recognizing me after 52 yrs. I’m guessing he always remembered his earliest and steady customers. A nice man and person.i miss him already.

  22. I just learned of Dominic’s death. Very sad to learn this. He was a special man, more than just a barber, a friend to everyone he met. Probably cut my hair for 25 years. Always looked forward to seeing him and renewing our acquaintance. He was young at heart. I miss him.

  23. Just read of Dominic’s passing. Got my hair cut in his shop for over 25 years before moving out of state. What a fantastic man, warm hearted to all who entered his shop.
    Condolences to his family.

  24. I’m visiting my hometown from my current home in Austin, Texas.
I had hoped to see Dominic, not knowing if the shop was still there. When I googled “Dominic & Pietro”, I was excited to see that the shop was still in business. There’s a great photo of Dominic in the listing.
I immediately made plans to go see Dominic again.
It was only this morning when I checked to see the shop’s hours that I’ve learned of Dominic’s passing.
    RIP my old friend.
