Maywood NJ, a juvenile pedestrian suffered serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Maywood on Thursday night, according to authorities.
Crash Under Investigation
The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. on Maywood Avenue, between Taplin and Thoma avenues, said Jeff Angermeyer, Deputy Chief of Detectives for the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.
Both the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and Maywood Police are investigating the crash. Additionally, the Bergen County Fatal Accident Investigation Unit Task Force was called to the scene to examine the circumstances surrounding the accident.
Driver Remains at Scene, Victim Hospitalized
Following the accident, the injured pedestrian was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
Authorities have not released further details regarding the cause of the crash or the victim’s current condition.
