Ridgewood NJ, it’s a question everyone asks when buying event tickets – when is the best time to get those seats? Gametime (Gametime.co), the leading app/site for last minute tickets, today, for the first time ever, released data revealing the best times to buy event tickets to sports, shows and concerts on the secondary market.

New figures from Gametime show prices on the platform on average start dropping a week before an event, with the biggest savings one day before an event, where people found tickets significantly cheaper than average. In 2021, 39% of tickets on Gametime were purchased on the day of the event which was also much cheaper than average. If you would like to see all the data, please let me know.

Highlights of the data includes:
–       For sports events, it is about 33% cheaper than average to buy a ticket within one hour of the game starting
–       Theater and Show tickets are about 45% less than average when purchasing the hour before the show stats
–       Concerts can be 51% less expensive if you buy your seat after the official start time of the event
–       If you buy NFL tickets 30 days before the game, you can expect to pay 10% more than average, but the prices will be 40% less than average the day before kickoff

Gametime also released data that shows how much prices change within three hours and one hour of an event starting, and also how much they change after an event has started. In addition, the company released data on which NFL teams see the biggest discount in tickets prices on the day of the game.
