  1. And the race is on!

  2. Didn’t he live in Midland Park and Ramsey while he was working for the fire department? Hmm.

    1. There is no law that people have to Live in Ridgewood if they work there.

      1. nominating packets are available for Ridgewood residents who are registered voters and wish to run for and serve on the Ridgewood Village Council

      2. Village Council members serve part-time, and most have full-time jobs. They appoint a Village Manager to oversee the day to day operations of the Village, to handle personnel, citizen inquiries and complaints, and to handle the administrative duties of the Village.

        1. Except when the Manager is only empowered to do the Mayor’s bidding.

          1

  3. Who’s going to be running in the Vagianos camp?

  4. Ready for a change

  5. It seems like every candidate for Council over the past decade has come in with a personal agenda. What does Mr Van Goor want to accomplish?

  6. It’s time to dump this mayor. She only looks out for herself, her family, and her close friends.

  7. His campaign is already tainted by stating he’s running with Susan. Why on earth would he do that!

  8. We are more than ready to replace our current Council members with fresh blood. The incumbents have wasted so much money on their personal favored projects, such as the Schedler house. Please, we need at least one more candidate to run to assure a fair election and possible new members on the Council.

  9. Isn’t Van Goor collecting a nice fat pension from the Village?

    5

    1. No. It’s paid by the state. Both the employee and the employer contribute to it. Part of the state lottery dolllars also go into the pension system.

  10. The Mayor picked another yes person so she can remain Mayor

  11. Jim’s public speaking experience will help him enormously – just go watch his old budget presentations. Retirement on a six figure pension wasn’t enough, he wants to continue to drain the Village coffers

  12. Yes, let’s re-elect the Mayor who gets rid of accessible virtual meetings, known for disregarding the voice of the village, rolling her eyes and acting immature during council meetings, who has gotten rid of outdoor dining and who has been a party to increased taxes each year.

Better idea, let’s elect her friend the Ex-Fire Chief who inflated the FD budget year after year when most towns have much smaller budget and volunteers for this and who hired her two sons in the FD. Bagelicious eventually recovered from him, I’m sure we will too.

They are the perfect choice to help Ridgewood control their expenses, reignite the CBD, and keep taxes flat during years of inflation. Perfect idea!

  13. Need to vote her out. Out of touch.

  14. Will see , we need all new council and mayor. And more after that.

    2

    1. And now the former fire chief with his fat pension that we’re paying for wants to continue to screw the town just like he did with his department budget? He’s not fooling anyone. This is Bombase redux.
      DONT BE FOOLED PEOPLE

  15. Queen Susan has got to go. (rolling my eyes)

  16. I am so done with Susan Knudsen. I voted for her twice. Not again. Unless Siobhan is running and then i guess I would have to vote for Susan.

  17. Oh good Lord. Susan. Give it up.

  18. This town is so dirty, it’s ridiculous, one scam after the next. Time for all new blood especially the mayor, counsel, manager, police chief, a few directors, and even a few supervisors, ridiculous what a bunch of puppets

  19. Unbelievable…she needs to go and anyone collecting a pension from the Village should not be running.

The fact that this guy hired both her kids should be disqualifying.

    She has no shame.

  20. Oh but it’s ok for vaggioanos to Run and win? When he has financial ties To about 10@ politically corrupted and connected things that make him totally unethical? You people.

  21. Yep, no requirement to live in town if you work in town. But aren’t you supposed to be honest on your campaign information? He’s not a lifelong resident. Liar liar pants on fire

    1. Fits in perfectly with Susan.

  22. You MUST live in Ridgewood. No exceptions. Sorry Jeff.

  23. Anyone saying bad things about Jim Van Goor does not know the man. Reach out to him, have a chat with him, and don’t be a keyboard warrior bashing him. Give him a fair shake. He deserves it. Every new candidate does.

I myself have known Jim for about half my life. He is a kind and compassionate individual. Either side, which unfortunately Ridgewood politics has become, should have a real easy time working with him.

    1. If you’re so supportive, why wouldn’t you want your name associated with your comment?

The man can barely hold a conversation in public. He’s not cut out for the position. End of story.

  24. Van Goor, seriously? This is the best candidate we can get.? Oh boy are we in serious trouble!
