Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood high density housing issue is upon us again. The Village Council will be meeting at the Campus Center of the Ridgewood High School.
The Village Council Meetings of March 23rd ,Work Session meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m.During the Work Session there will be a Special Public Meeting for the Public Hearings and vote on the multi-family housing ordinances as well as a public hearing and vote on the bond ordinance to appropriate money for the Hudson Street parking deck.
The meetings will be filmed and available both on YouTube and the Village Public Access Channel (Cablevision 77; Fios 37) the following day. According to a March 10th update “streaming on YouTube from this location on March 9th proved successful and will be again be done for the March 23rd meeting.
If everyone in favor of or against these projects is so certain that their views reflect the views of the overwhelming majority in the Village, there is a simple solution here to end the incivility and bring peace and harmony back to the Village. The current council can continue to work to put these things into place, but not take a final vote. Just have everything ready to go when they leave office. The six candidates running for council can explain their positions on the projects in their campaign literature and public debates. The public can vote for the candidates. A public vote can be held the first day the new council meets. The public will have spoken — – there will never be any reason for name calling, back stabbing or second guessing.
Let’s let democracy rule in Ridgewood!
The current council majority know on this blog as the three amigos , have all declined to run for reelection for various reasons , so the fate of the Village of Ridgewood will be settled by parties who are no longer vested in the Village.
So it’s a big FU to the Ridgewood Blog. Perfect.
A new low…comes with the territory..scorched earth exit….
By referring to the councilmembers as the three amigos, your besmirching the good names of the actual Three Amigos.
“In a way, all of us has an El Guapo to face. For some, shyness might be their El Guapo. For others, a lack of education might be their El Guapo. For us, El Guapo is a big, dangerous man who wants to kill us. But as sure as my name is Lucky Day, the people of Santa Poco can conquer their own personal El Guapo, who also happens to be *the actual* El Guapo! “
I recommend that you drive down to the CBD for Montclair….this is what we’re heading towards.
It’s crazy that the commerce folks run the show here….
11.33. Notice that those same commerce folks want everyone else to pay for their business plan expansion capacity buildout.
We need to name the new construction the “Aronson, Puccerelli, Hauck Projects” – – we need to remember all three names as we look back fondly as to what Ridgewood was before they destroyed it. No one should ever forget to let them know what they did to the town on their way out the door.
Stop with your “Village” crap…this place long ago stopped being a village. And now it’s time to move forward. What’s wrong with looking like Montclair? Is your head so far up your arse that you can’t see the future? That IS what Ridgewood is going to look like…vibrant, busy and successful. What Ridgewood needs is a Welmont as it’s anchor not a GAP or whatever you tony country club types think represents reality. Oh yea, when you leave…Take Ms. ( I am everything a Ridgewood betty looks like) Hauck with you.
Hey 3:00…get me the list of top 50 public schools in NJ and find Montclair will you? Oh what is that? IT isn’t in the top 50? Oh right…and what do we suppose happens to our property values and investment in Ridgewood when we also are out of the top 50? If you think people move to Ridgewood for dinner and a shopping trip to the GAP you are the one mistaken. It is vibrant, busy and successful NOW. For every store with a crappy business plan that closes a new one takes its place. IF you have a problem with the Village as it currently is I suggest you head to Montclair…
Montclair’s downtown is BIGGER. 3:00, have you read about the uproar by people living near the Wellmont (once it stopped being a movie theater) regarding traffic, parking, and rowdiness?
build it big.
Montclair is hip
Our village engineer did state at a meeting that we could have increased sludge due to density changes . Given the fact that a sludge pipe crumbled in Midland Park releasing all that stuff into the streets and was diverted into Kings Pond should give us pause. Can our infra structure handle the increased out put?
Then move there 4:53.
Montclair is a dump. I win all you Brooklyn hipsters would mover there
Linda McNamara, the studies conducted by BFJ planning state somewhere in small fonts that sewer lines will need to be replaced, but in their conclusions they omit this to just say ‘no impact’ to make the village management happy who hired them for the reporting / studies.
Bloomfield Avenue, Montclair’s main drag, is six, YES 6, lanes wide. Two lanes for parking, 4 lanes for traffic flow. Quite a difference from Ridgewood Avenue.
I like Montclair which includes upper Montclair and Montclair Center. Museum, University, restaurants, multiple nj transit stops. It IS where the city and the suburbs meet. Very nice town and yes it is diverse.
We don’t need Welmont, we have Bookends!
734 – yep — but remember, replacing the sewer lines won’t cost us much – – its having to dig up the streets and people’s property that will cost us.
these three bull shiters are done.
wait for the new mayor, time to clean up. the top dogs are gone.
