Marijuana in Ridgewood: Legalized for Medicinal Use Only

In the past decade, there has been a growing movement to legalize marijuana for medicinal purposes. This is due to the many potential benefits that cannabis can offer to patients suffering from a wide variety of conditions. While there is still some debate on the matter, more and more states are beginning to pass laws that allow for the use of medical marijuana.

New Jersey is one of those states. In 2016, the state passed a law allowing for the use of medical marijuana within its borders. However, there are some strict regulations in place in order to ensure that only those who truly need it are able to access it.

Conditions That Qualify for Medical Marijuana in Ridgewood

In order to be eligible for medical marijuana in Ridgewood, patients must be suffering from one of the following conditions:

Crohn’s disease

Parkinson’s disease

Multiple sclerosis

Cachexia (wasting syndrome)

Seizures (including those associated with epilepsy)

Severe and chronic pain

Severe nausea

Muscle spasms (including those associated with multiple sclerosis)

The qualifying patient must also obtain a recommendation from a licensed physician in order to be eligible for a medical marijuana card. Once they have done so, they will need to register with the town in order to receive their card. This process can take up to two weeks.

Once they have received their card, patients are allowed to purchase up to two ounces of marijuana per month from a licensed dispensary. They are also allowed to grow up to six plants for personal use.

Patients can consume marijuana in the form of edibles, oils, tinctures, capsules, or topicals. However, smoking marijuana is not allowed. CDB capsules stand out as one of the popular choices, and for a good reason – they are discreet, effective, and easy to use.

Possible Side Effects of Medical Marijuana

While there are many potential benefits of medical marijuana, it is important to be aware of the possible side effects before using it. These can include:

Dry mouth

Red eyes

Increased appetite

Paranoid thoughts or anxiety

Short-term memory loss

It is also important to note that marijuana can interact with other medications, so it is important to speak with a doctor before using it.

Ridgewood’s Medical Marijuana Laws

Ridgewood’s medical marijuana laws are some of the most restrictive in the state. However, they are also some of the most effective in ensuring that only those who need it are able to access it. By following these laws, patients can be sure that they are getting the best possible care.

  1. Rise in Paterson…1 of 13 recreational dispensaries. no need to have a medical card…just 21 and over, pay with cash.

  2. “Marijuana can only be purchased from a licensed dispensary in Ridgewood. There are currently two dispensaries in the town”

HUH? No dispensaries in the town of Ridgewood.
Also the Article left out RISE in Paterson ..which is both a medical and recreational dispensary

  3. The village Ridgewood has no power over individuals using marijuana as long as they are over 21. I’m not operating a motor vehicle. The only power they have is if they vote yes or no to have a dispensary in town. And as of now which now, that’s OK, they’re losing all the tax dollars. I never got into using some marijuana, but if it helps individuals with pain medically I guess it’s a good thing.

  4. Murph, keepin’ the population stupid while fleecing the taxpayers.

  5. Recreational Use
New Jersey’s Cannabis Regulatory, Enforcement Assistance, and Marketplace Modernization (CREAMM) Act allows for the legal sale and use of cannabis and cannabis products for residents 21 years and older. The newly adopted NJ-CRC rules establish the recreational cannabis industry in the state.

    Who can buy?
Anyone – New Jersey residents or visitors – 21 years and older.

    Where can I buy?
