Mountain View Auto Seeks on South Broad Seeks to Expand their Auto Body Shop into a Much Larger Facility in Ridgewood

Ridgewood NJ, Mountain View Auto has been a family owed and operated business since 1957. They purchased this location on South Broad Street in 2021 to help bring our 65+ years of service and experience to customers within a different county. Mountain View Auto invests in the top technologies in the industry and ensure they are certified and trained by the vehicles manufacturer.

According to the Traffic Engineering Review – Mountainview Auto , “The subject property is located on an irregular shaped lot located along South Broad Street. The subject property, blocks 3905, lots 12, 13, & 14, otherwise known as 246-264 South Broad Street, is located within the R-3 Zone. The property is currently developed by a one-story auto body shop, two and a half story residential dwelling, contractor’s yard and garage. Existing site improvements include concrete driveway aprons, asphalt paving, landscaping, and signage. ”

“The Applicant proposes to raze the existing structures to construct a new auto body shop. The proposed building is divided into a 2-story service center and a 1-story service garage. The 2-story service center would contain the proposed office space, reception area, and storage and the service garage contains 21 vehicle bays for both auto body and mechanical work. Additional proposed improvements include asphalt parking lot, concrete driveway aprons, concrete sidewalks, trash and recycling enclosures, retaining walls and fencing, lighting, and landscaping .”

Statement required by the Open Public Meeting Act “Adequate notice of this meeting has been provided by a posting on the bulletin board in the Village Hall, by mail to the Ridgewood News, The Record and by submission to all persons entitled to same as provided by law of a schedule including date and time of this meeting”.

Please note: A curfew of 11:00 PM is strictly adhered to by the Zoning Board of Adjustment of the Village of Ridgewood. No new matter involving an Applicant will be started after 10:30 PM. At 10:00 PM the Chairman will make a determination and advise Applicants as to whether they will be heard. If an Applicant cannot be heard because of the lateness of the hour, the matter will be carried over to a future meeting to be determined by the Board at 10:00 PM.

  1. Why not let him lease the Ridgewood Parking Garage no one else is use it.

  2. I live on South Broad St. North Broad St traffic is busy and loud. An expansion of this business on South Broad St will increase Traffic flow coupled with noise pollution. Tow Trucks and possibly larger trucks will be a constant annoyance on South Broad St which is primarily a residential area. The little peace and quiet we have on South Broad Street, I’d like the Village of Ridgewood to preserve.
