Ridgewood NJ, Residents and officials across New Jersey are grappling with an unusual mystery: the repeated sightings of large drones in the skies over central and northern parts of the state. These unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), spotted since mid-November, have prompted a flurry of concerns, from public safety to national security.
The Village is aware that drones have been sighted over Ridgewood, and the Police Department has reported all sightings to both county and federal agencies through the proper reporting chains. As information becomes available, it will be shared with residents.

Authorities, including the FBI Newark, NJ State Police, and NJ Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness, are urging the public to report any relevant information about these drones, which have been seen near sensitive areas, including a military installation and President-elect Donald Trump’s Bedminster golf course.
Drone Sightings Raise Alarm Among Officials
The drones in question are reportedly larger than typical hobbyist models, making their presence even more concerning. Witnesses have described clusters of drones and even a possible fixed-wing aircraft. These sightings have led the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to impose flight restrictions over areas like Picatinny Arsenal in Morris County and Trump National Golf Club in Somerset.
Mark Chiarolanza, spokesman for the Morris County Sheriff’s Office, summed up the sentiment:
“It’s a complete mystery.”
Officials and Lawmakers Demand Answers
A coalition of 21 mayors from towns across New Jersey has sent a letter to Governor Phil Murphy, demanding action and transparency regarding the mysterious drones. Rachel Campos-Duffy, wife of Sean Duffy, President-elect Trump’s transportation secretary nominee, expressed the frustration felt by many residents:
“If you live in Morristown, Mendham, Summit, Bedminster, Far Hills — that whole area, that’s all you’re talking about… Unfortunately, we don’t have many answers.”
State Senator Jon Bramnick (R-21) has called for immediate measures:
“The State of New Jersey should issue a limited state of emergency banning all drones until the public receives an explanation regarding these multiple sightings.”
Federal Response: Safety First
U.S. Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) announced new measures to address the potential risks posed by these drones, including supporting law enforcement and educating the public.
“We must ensure New Jersey does not become the Wild West for drone activity,” said Gottheimer.
Residents Asked to Help
Authorities are urging residents to stay vigilant and report any sightings, photos, or videos of drones to the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI or via tips.fbi.gov.
Amy J. Thoreson, FBI spokesperson, emphasized caution:
“We don’t have many answers, and we don’t want to guess or hypothesize about what’s going on.”
Local Voices and Bold Statements
Assemblyman Brian Bergen offered his own dramatic solution to the drone problem:
“Borrow me an Apache helicopter from the PA National Guard, and I’ll put an end to this drone problem myself.”
While Bergen’s comment may have been tongue-in-cheek, it highlights the frustration of residents and officials alike.
What’s Next?
As investigations continue, the focus remains on ensuring public safety and uncovering the origins of these mysterious drones. The cooperation of residents and law enforcement will be crucial in solving this puzzle and maintaining the security of New Jersey’s skies.
Stay tuned for updates on this developing story. If you’ve seen anything unusual, don’t hesitate to report it—every detail helps.

Where is Little Josh ?
And Governor Horseteeth for that matter ??
Josh is busy selling Jersey values and working hard to lowering our taxes.
And working hard to make NJ more affordable for the seniors who made NJ but who’ve been pushed out and can’t be with their families.
who is “working hard to make NJ more affordable” ??????
Josh Gottheimer. That’s what his ads say. They couldn’t say that if it wasn’t true.
Clearly, an agency of the US Government is conducting some sort of testing. My guess is Picatinny Arsenal.
NJ’s own Rep. Chris Smith says it could be a foreign power — the Russians, the Chinese, some country in the Middle East even, he says. Are you fuggin kidding me? Are they lying, stupid, or both?

Well, of course. Iran isn’t going to attack itself.
Oh it’s probably a bunch of alien UFOs looking for intelligent life. Good luck on this planet. No point continuing their search here. Next planet please…..
