Ridgewood NJ, the latest immigration enforcement moves have sparked concerns among immigration advocates, who argue that these policies lack transparency and could violate due process rights.

Currently, an estimated 11 million undocumented immigrants reside in the United States. Former President Donald Trump has pledged to take unprecedented action to remove as many as possible while also strengthening measures to curb illegal crossings at the southern border.

Targeting Undocumented Immigrants: A Renewed Focus

Border Czar Tom Homan stated that the administration’s primary focus is deporting individuals deemed threats to public safety and national security. However, he also emphasized that collateral arrests will occur, particularly in sanctuary cities that refuse to assist Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in detaining undocumented immigrants already in local custody.

Homan’s remarks signal a broader crackdown, heightening concerns that individuals without criminal records could also be swept up in mass deportation efforts.

New Jersey Public Libraries Under Scrutiny

Meanwhile, Republican gubernatorial candidate Jack Ciattarelli has voiced concerns over a New Jersey public library’s distribution of materials advising individuals to resist ICE and refuse cooperation with federal immigration officials.

In a Facebook post, Ciattarelli questioned:

“Why are public libraries (this one in Burlington County) handing out cards instructing people to resist ICE and refuse cooperation with federal immigration officials? Who’s paying to print them? Who instructed staff to distribute them? This is outrageous and needs to end immediately. It certainly will when I’m Governor.”

This controversy underscores the growing tensions between state and federal policies on immigration enforcement, particularly in states with strong sanctuary protections.

A Divisive Issue with National Impact

As immigration policies continue to evolve, the debate over enforcement, civil rights, and local resistance remains at the forefront of national discourse. With millions of undocumented immigrants at risk of deportation and local governments pushing back, the U.S. remains deeply divided on the future of immigration reform.

  1. GTFO

  2. Why would they be printed in English? So the ads over the loudspeakers at Lowe’s are in Spanish but this subversive literature delineating one’s rights in America are written in English? Are there so many English-speaking illegals at the library?

    1. They do the reading that Americans won’t do.

  3. This won’t stop until the morons handing out the cards are raped and murdered by the card recipients…
