Ridgewood NJ, NJ Transit Police announce increased deployments – protecting travel to multiple St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.
Expect to see an increased presence of New Jersey Transit Police. We will be ensuring safe travel to celebrations throughout the region. This includes the New York City parade and festivities in Belmar and Pearl River.
Despite our additional presence, remain alert. If you see something suspicious or unusual, take note. Report suspicious activity, packages, or vehicles around NJ TRANSIT facilities or onboard the system. Call us at 1-888-TIPS-NJT (1-888-847-7658).
Know BEFORE you go:
NJ TRANSIT is prohibiting all beverages for these special events. NO BEVERAGES, INCLUDING ALCOHOL – OPEN OR CLOSED – WILL BE PERMITTED on any train, bus, or platform the entire weekend of March 2 and 3 to accommodate festivities in Belmar and elsewhere around the state; as well as March 9 and 10 for festivities in Atlantic City and Asbury Park, and March 16 and 17 for festivities in New York City, Pearl River and South Amboy. This policy will be strictly enforced.
Allow for extra travel time and check schedules in advance.
