Elizabeth NJ, during the early morning hours of 3/19/21, NJTPD officers responded to a report of a conductor assaulted at North Elizabeth Station. The officers apprehended a subject who allegedly struck a conductor in the face with a closed fist. This subject now faces multiple charges including Aggravated Assault, Hindering, and Theft of Service.
Please remember: any assault on NJ TRANSIT bus operators and train crews carries a prison term of up to 5 years and fines of up to $15,000 dollars. They are protected employees under the laws of the State of New Jersey.
