“Ridgewood is a nice bubble for a BLM protest. They got their arrest and a “cause” to harp on. Now they wait with cell phones to “document “ bad behavior. They are all over the cyclist arrest because it was just toddlers on bikes.

Some local political activists have invested a lot of their credibility in the Ridgewood Black Liberation Movement. Contacting the press and seeking attention. It is Slacktivism at its best. Demonstrate in a nice park after latte at a local coffee company. Stay in your $1m plus home and pretend to be saving the world. Decry White Privilege while being the very embodiment.”

Ridgewood NJ, a new Cato national survey finds that self‐censorship is on the rise in the United States. Nearly two-thirds—62%—of Americans say the political climate these days prevents them from saying things they believe because others might find them offensive. The share of Americans who self‐censor has risen several points since 2017 when 58% of Americans agreed with this statement.

Clearly we have seen this in action even on a local level in Ridgewood. Name calling, bullying , “filtering” , silencing , group think , conformity, blind obedience ,right think , Facebook excommunication, boycotts and  trying to get people fired  has become part of life in Ridgewood .  https://theridgewoodblog.net/in-ridgewood-its-free-speech-for-some-but-not-for-others/

Presidents Day Our Favorite Presidents : Zachary Taylor

Zachary Taylor, a general and national hero in the United States Army from the time of the Mexican-American War and the the War of 1812, was later elected the 12th President of the United States, serving from March 1849 until his death in July 1850.

Northerners and Southerners disputed sharply whether the territories wrested from Mexico should be opened to slavery, and some Southerners even threatened secession. Standing firm, Zachary Taylor was prepared to hold the Union together by armed force rather than by compromise.
