Ridgewood NJ ,RHS Boys Basketball Guards Johnny Jackson and Evan O’Reilly were named to the Bergen County Coaches Association’s 2024 All-Bergen County team! Both Johnny and Evan reached the 1,000 career points benchmark this season. Jackson made the first team and O’Reilly was named to the second.

Demarest  NJ, A legendary Holy Angels coach and a rising hoop star realized athletic milestones on the basketball court within a few days of each other. On December 30, 2023, Coach Susan Liddy of Emerson earned her 800th career victory with the Academy’s varsity basketball team. On January 2, 2024, combo guard Samantha Serrano (AHA ’24) of Nanuet, New York, scored her 1,000th career point.

Graydon Pool features a shaded playground, water play fountains, shade kites, Adirondack chairs, a picnic area, sheltered pavilion, charcoal grills, and the Water’s Edge Café. Additional amenities include a fenced in Kiddie swim and play area, volleyball, basketball, ping-pong tables, shuffleboard, four square, hopscotch and Wi-Fi accessibility. And better yet no Parkway Traffic, no sharks, jellyfish or dead whales !

Contact Practices and Competitions for Organized Sports in Indoor Settings Has Resumed in New Jersey

Ridgewood NJ,  Governor Phil Murphy today signed Executive Order No. 187, allowing the resumption of contact practices and competitions in indoor settings for organized sports defined as “medium risk” and “high risk” by the New Jersey Department of Health’s “Guidance for Sports Activities.”   The order encompasses sports including hockey, basketball, cheerleading, group dance, rugby, boxing, judo, karate, taekwondo, and wrestling.  Governor Murphy previously signed Executive Orders No. 149 and 168, which permitted the resumption of outdoor sports activities, “low risk” practices and competitions in indoor settings, and non-contact indoor practices for “medium risk” and “high risk” sports.

Rochelle Park NJ, Filipino-American teen trainer Ryan Ang is back at it keeping kids safe against COVID-19 by encouraging them to stay home and instead get basketball training online – and this very welcome news for basketball-crazy Filipinos as Luzon Island has been declared under quarantine.

The 16-year-old Ang went on live streaming over Instagram and Facebook live on Friday, March 17, 2020,(3:30-4:00) to provide free Ang1 Trainings on ball handling to his students and anyone interested in basketball.

“My name is Ryan Ang from Ang1 Trainings . I am a 16 year old Filipino basketball trainer located in Bergen County . Due to the recent outbreak  of COVID 19 ,athletes have not been able to participate in any basketball activities including personal and group training in fear of catching the Coronavirus . Moreover I am unable to conduct my training sessions as it might jeopardize the health and safety of both myself and the athletes . Despite all the negative effects of COVID 19 ,there is come positivity beyond the virus . I have developed a way athletes can train with me without jeopardizing my safety and their safety.
