Twp of Washington NJ, NJ State Senator Holly Schepisi reminds everyone, to stay vigilant. Certain crimes have seen a significant uptake in our communities and criminals are becoming bolder in their criminal acts. Just yesterday there was an armed carjacking in Washington Township at the intersection of Pascack and Ridgewood Roads. If anyone has any information please contact the Washington Township police department. Carjacking is a first-degree-plus crime and carries penalties including 10 to 30 years in prison, with a 5-year minimum period of parole ineligibility. (N.J. Stat. § 2C:15-2 (2020).

Ottawa, Canada, thousands of Canadian truckers and other protesters made their way to Ottawa on January 29 as part of a so-called “Freedom Convoy” to protest vaccine mandates and other public health measures implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic. The rally originated in British Columbia the week prior and consisted of trucks and their supporters driving across the country to the nation’s capital. The original goal of the rally was to protest a mandate put in place on January 15 that required all unvaccinated cross-border truckers to quarantine upon returning home, but the message has since shifted to a general condemnation of all public health interventions. Media reported that people and vehicles clogged the streets of Ottawa making noise and bringing the city to a standstill, but the rally was “mostly peaceful”.

Marxist BLM Protestors, Police Clash At Bergen County Jail Amid ICE Detainee Hunger Strike

Hackensack NJ, at least eight immigrants being held by Immigration and Customs Enforcement at Bergen County Jail in New Jersey are participating in a hunger strike to protest conditions at the facility and demand to be released. Local activists say the hunger strike is in its 18th day. ICE would not comment on how long the immigrants have stopped eating. Family members and activists who have spoken to detainees claim conditions inside the facility are “dire.”
