Congressmen Scott Garrett : That is what July 4th means to me

scott_garrett_therodgewoodblog

Every Fourth of July our country comes together to celebrate the signing of the Declaration that would enshrine the principles of what it means to live as free people. But the signing of the Declaration of Independence was not the end of the pursuit for freedom and liberty—it was just the start.

The Revolutionary War was a long, bloody affair that endangered the property, family, and very lives of the Patriots who knew that they had no choice but to fight to defend their rights. And the subsequent years after the American Revolution were filled with many questions for this new fledgling country. It would be 11 years after July 4, 1776 until the United States Constitution was finally adopted to guarantee the rights of all Americans.

The lesson of Independence Day is that freedom is not something you declare one time and hope for the best. It’s a commitment we must, as Americans, fight for just as diligently in 2016 as the revolutionaries in 1776.

Freedom is fought for by the brave members of our armed forces who put their lives on the line to defend us. It’s fought for by our first responders who risk everything to serve their communities right here at home. And it’s fought for by everyone who is proud to live in a country that fights to end tyranny and oppression both here and abroad.

Herein lies the beauty of America. Few of us can trace our heritage in this country back to the colonial days, yet we continue to celebrate the achievements of early America. That’s because the Founders’ cries for freedom and liberty have been adopted by everyone who has made this country their home. This is the American Dream.

Our dream is about more than a place on a map or any specific of group of people. Our dream is a promise that the government is beholden to the people, and it’s a promise that every person is born free and deserves to pursue their own happiness.

That is what July 4th means to me.

Does New Jersey Assemblymen Tim Eustace misguided rhetoric place the LGBT community in Grave Danger

New Jersey Assemblymen Tim Eustace
June 16,2016

the staff of the Ridgewood blog

Ridgewood Nj, New Jersey Assemblymen Tim Eustace continues his over the top grandstanding against Congressmen Scott Garrett. Eustace has been making the rounds protesting Garrett’s “alleged” and I repeat “alleged” remarks and organizing media events like protesting Fidelity investments on Route 17 in Paramus over donations to the Garrett campaign . Unbeknownst to Eustace  and much of the New Jersey media a small mutual fund office in Paramus does not control corporate policy for Mutual Fund giant Fidelity’s corporate donation policy .

Assemblyman Tim Eustace told PolitickerNJ that the congressman’s statements “ridiculous.” According to Eustace, one of New Jersey’s only openly gay assemblypeople, Garrett’s stance on the LGBT community (he allegedly made statements last year that he wouldn’t support the Republican Party’s fundraising arm because of support for gay candidates) and his NRA backing make his statements “hypocritical.”

Eustace then jumped the shark by saying ,“I thought it was ridiculous,” Eustace told PolitickerNJ. “Here is a man who doesn’t even believe LGBT people deserve equal citizenship, that we have the right to run for office. Here is somebody who is fully invested by the NRA. These congressmen are the reason assault weapons are on the streets. He comes out in support of them but didn’t actually mention LGBT people at all.”

LGBT people deserve equal citizenship, really Tim ? According to Eustace and people like him Republicans present a far greater threat then Islamic Jihad ? Humm tell that to the people in the WTC on 9/11 or thats right they are dead .

Eustace like many seemed shocked that the terror group ISIS would target the gay community ,apparently Tim has missed the memo that ISIS like all Islamic Jihadist groups are sworn to kill gays and enslave women as well as eliminate all western style freedoms .

To make this clear because so many seem in denial ,Sharia law mandates that homosexuals be killed and is not from ISIS or al-Qaeda. It is from sharia which is based on Muslim scripture.

While other gay groups have quickly learned that they are not safe under the current administration and have begun arming themselves like Pink Pistols or changing there support for Donald Trump who has like many sounded the alarm continuously for years ,Eustace and his band of media hounds continues to misrepresent their cause and place themselves and others in grave danger.

Ridgewood NJ, Congressment Scott Garrett offers prayers for the victims of the Orlando terror attack,  “My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of everyone in Orlando and throughout the United States who are mourning the senseless loss of so many promising young lives. The cowards who perpetuate this kind of violence against innocent people should know that we will never back down and we will never give in to their warped view of the world. We are Americans, and we stand together to defend freedom and liberty. I thank the first responders who responded to this tragedy for their bravery in the face of unspeakable violence.”

Clinton Scandals Overshadow Gottheimer bid to Unseat Congressmen Scott Garrett

Joshua S

March 13,2016
the staff of the Ridgewood blog

Ridgewood NJ, Joshua S. Gottheimer is a lawyer, speechwriter, and public policy adviser. He has been active within the Democratic Party as a speechwriter for Bill Clinton and an advisor for the presidential campaigns of Wesley Clark, John Kerry, and Hillary Clinton. He is currently running for the United States House of Representatives in New Jersey’s 5th congressional district.

The New York Times called Gottheimer a “Protégé of Clintons”  saying , “few can claim as direct a connection to the former secretary of state as Mr. Gottheimer, who began his career as a young speechwriter in the Clinton White House and advised Mrs. Clinton’s 2008 campaign. Mr. Clinton and Chelsea Clinton have already quietly appeared at a Manhattan fund-raiser in late October, where Ms. Clinton introduced Mr. Gottheimer as something of a family member.”  https://www.nytimes.com/2015/12/26/nyregion/protege-of-hillary-and-bill-clintons-targets-us-congressional-seat.html

On February 8th the FBI disclosed in a federal court filing, that it is looking into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server. On March 2nd the Justice Department granted immunity to a former State Department staffer, who worked on Hillary Clinton’s private email server, as part of a criminal investigation into the possible mishandling of classified information, according to a senior law enforcement official.

While the Ridgewood blog has already reported that Gottheimer is being funded by Wall Street interests looking to expand the current “too big to fail” policies and make Wall Street and Corporate bailouts even more frequent something Garret is vehemently opposed too. The NYT again reported ,”Mr. Gottheimer reported raising around $1 million for his campaign through September. A review of his filings found that about one dollar in six came directly from fellow alumni of the Clinton White House and campaigns — many of whom are scattered across powerful companies like Time Warner Inc., Bloomberg L.P. and Goldman Sachs — or from major donors and employees of consulting firms tied closely to the Clintons. “https://www.nytimes.com/2015/12/26/nyregion/protege-of-hillary-and-bill-clintons-targets-us-congressional-seat.html

And all this before any mention of the Clinton foundation ,which the National Review called an , ” elaborate slush fund, includes numerous donors and even one-time board members with dodgy backgrounds, shady dealings, and even criminal convictions that should repel rather than lure a once and perhaps future president of the United States. Peter Schweizer’s meticulously researched new best-seller Clinton Cash” (complete with 635 endnotes) delineates this ultimate power couple’s sordid circle. https://www.nationalreview.com/article/419791/clinton-foundation-reeks-crooks-thieves-and-hoods-deroy-murdock

Congressmen Scott Garrett: Today we thank our veterans for preserving the rights and freedoms we hold dear

“While many of us hear about the threats facing our country, a few extraordinary men and women have come face to face with them. They looked our enemies in the eyes and took a stand against tyranny, violence, oppression, and terror. Today we thank our veterans for preserving the rights and freedoms we hold dear. May God bless our veterans, and may God bless the United States of America.” Congressmen Scott Garrett

The values and  principles  of the United States are preserved by the willingness of  brave men and women to stand and defend our nation. These men and women—our veterans—sacrifice time with their families, the comforts of home, and their very safety in the name of freedom. Today our country stops to recognize their service. It is Congress’ responsibility to ensure our veterans receive the benefits and recognition that they deserve when they return home from the front lines.

Last year, we were all disturbed to learn that thousands of veterans waited more than 90 days to see a doctor at the Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) health care facilities. In the aftermath of these revelations, I led the New Jersey delegation in demanding answers about the VA health care facilities that service New Jersey veterans to ensure our heroes are receiving the best possible care.

In addition to this request, the House of Representatives took legislative action. We built on last year’s Veterans’ Access to Choice and Accountability Act by passing the VA Accountability Act of 2015. These pieces of  legislation would help get veterans off wait lists and expand the VA secretary’s ability to fire employees who have been negligent in serving veterans.

I am also a cosponsor of the Keeping our Promises to Veterans Act and the Military SAVE Act. These bills would expand the eligibility for participation in the Veteran Choice Program by allowing veterans to find health care outside the VA health care system that is closer to home and by shortening wait time goals from 30 to 15 days.

Finally, if you or someone you know is a veteran that is having a difficult time with the VA or other  federal agencies, please let me help. My offices in Newton and Glen Rock have helped countless veterans receive the benefits they’ve earned and they’re available to you any time.

While many of us hear about the threats facing our country, these brave men and women have come face to face with them. They looked our enemies in the eyes and took a stand against tyranny, violence, oppression, and terror. Today we thank our veterans for preserving the rights and freedoms we hold dear. May God bless our veterans, and may God bless the United States of America.
