Ridgewood NJ, we reported earlier that in June, the FTC warned about scammers stealing people’s Medicare numbers and billing Medicare for COVID-19-related services (and other things) that they sometimes got — and sometimes didn’t. The difference now? You might be getting the bill instead of Medicare. That’s because after May 11th, when the COVID-19 Health Emergency officially ended, Medicare and other health insurance plans stopped paying for many at-home over-the-counter COVID-19 tests. Once Medicare denies payment, those scammy companies could come back with a bill in your name.

Legislation Allowing Pharmacists to Administer COVID-19 Tests Advances

Ridgewood NJ,  Recognizing the vital importance of rapid, accurate and widely available testing to the ongoing battle to limit the spread of the coronavirus, the Legislature today advanced legislation sponsored by Senators Vin Gopal and Linda Greenstein authorizing pharmacists to order and administer tests for Covid-19 and Covid-19 antibodies.

Division of Consumer Affairs has authorized licensed New Jersey pharmacists to administer COVID-19 tests

Ridgewood NJ, Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal today announced that the Division of Consumer Affairs has authorized licensed New Jersey pharmacists to widely administer COVID-19 tests to customers, paving the way for thousands of pharmacies statewide to serve as testing sites.

Expanding testing authority to the more than 18,000 pharmacists licensed in the state advances Governor Phil Murphy’s goal of doubling statewide testing by the end of the month as part of his “Road Back” recovery plan to reopen the state.
