Hasbrouck Heights NJ, at 5:30 am, the Hasbrouck Heights Fire Department was dispatched to Route 17 N by the Extra Space Storage for a motor vehicle accident involving a tractor-trailer on fire.
West Orange NJ, The West Point cadet killed when a military training vehicle overturned during training exercise has been identified as Cadet Christopher J. Morgan, Class of 2020, of West Orange.
Sr. Cadet Chris Morgan of West Orange is identified by the Army as the fatality in Thursday’s crash at West Point. Morgan, 22, was a Law and Legal Studies major, and a recruited athlete who was a standout member of the Army Wrestling Team set to graduate in 2020
Ridgewood NJ, No injuries were reported following the Thursday morning, 06/28, crash of a Jeep Renegade into a convenience store located at Speedway Gas, 465 Goffle Road, Ridgewood. Ridgewood Police and Ridgewood Fire Department responded to the incident. Damage to the structure itself was limited to glass breakage only. Fire Department personnel requested that Ridgewood Health Department officials respond to determine if any food products for sale were contaminated by broken class. The Jeep appeared to have sustained very minimal damage and was likely to be driven from the scene.
Washington Twp NJ, A two (2) vehicle, Friday morning, 05/04, crash in front of 1149 Washington Avenue, Washington Township resulted in a non life threatening injury to one (1) driver, who was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. A flatbed tow truck removed both wrecks from the scene. Washington Township Police and EMS responded to aid the crash victim.
Hawthorne NJ, A Tuesday night, 03/20, rollover crash involving two (2) vehicles on Route 208 northbound near Lincoln Avenue in Hawthorne caused a temporary closure of the highway and resulted in two (2) individuals being transported by ambulance to the hospital. Hawthorne Police, Fire department, and EMS personnel responded and were assisted with traffic control by police officers from Glen Rock Police and Ridgewood Police. A paramedic team from The Valley Hospital assisted Hawthorne EMTs with patient evaluation. Injuries to both victims appeared to have been non life threatening. The rolled over vehicle was removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck.
Glen Rocj NJ, It was reported that a Ridgewood Fire Department SUV was involved in an injury-free crash while on the way to assist the Glen Rock Fire Department in the investigation of a fire alarm sounding at the Hamilton School on Harristown Road. The fender bender happened on January 31, Wednesday at the intersection of Ackerman Ave and Maple Ave, Glen Rock. A witness to the crash said that no tow trucks were needed because the damage was so minor. Several Glen Rock police officers were seen at the crash location. Warning lights and siren were said to have been activated on the fire vehicle.
Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood Police issued at least one (1) summons in connection with a two (2) vehicle crash at the intersection of Ackerman Avenue and Bellair Road, in Ridgewood that occurred on Wednesday afternoon, 01/10. Two (2) ambulances were required to transport individuals injured in the mishap to The Valley Hospital. All injuries were reported to be non life threatening in nature. Both wrecked vehicles were removed from the scene by a tow truck. Ridgewood Fire Department personnel attended to a minor crash related fluid spill. A traffic control device was clobbered by one (1) of the passenger vehicles involved in the collision.
Ridgewood NJ, Two (2) summonses were issued in connection with a four (4) vehicle crash in the parking lot of 363 Route 17 southbound, Ridgewood on Wednesday afternoon, 10/18. Witnesses reported that a 4-door BMW sedan traveling on Route 17 southbound left the roadway, drove up a grassy embankment, and went airborne before landing in a strip mall parking lot. The BMW’s adult male driver sustained a minor leg injury, but refused transport to a local hospital. Three (3) vehicles, including the BMW, were wrecked; two (2) were removed from the scene by flatbed tow trucks. The owner of the third wrecked vehicle could not be located. Ridgewood Police, EMS, and Fire Department personnel responded.
Ho Ho Kus NJ, No injuries were reported in a Monday morning, 06/05, crash on Route 17 southbound at Hollywood Avenue, Ho-Ho-Kus involving a white colored Toyota Camry and a tractor trailer. The Toyota became partially wedged under the trailer and had to be freed by a flatbed tow truck. Ho-Ho-Kus PD investigated the crash and provided traffic control while the tow truck operator worked to free the passenger vehicle and remove it from the scene.
Paramus NJ, A two (2) vehicle Thursday morning, 05/25, crash near the intersection of West Ridgewood Avenue and Roosevelt Boulevard in Paramus injured the driver of a gold colored mini van, whose vehicle careened off of the rain slick roadway up onto the lawn of a nearby home. Paramus PD patrol officers and a Bergen County Sheriff’s Department Patrol Division K9 officer aided the victim until an ambulance arrived and transported her to The Valley Hospital. The other driver complained of back pain, but refused ambulance transport. Both heavily damaged vehicles were removed from the scene by separate flatbed tow trucks.
Washington Township NJ ,The resultant force of a two (2) vehicle crash sent one (1) vehicle up onto the lawn of a home at 575 Washington Avenue, Washington Township on Friday morning, 04/28. Washington Township PD and EMS responded to the incident. One (1) driver, an adult male, complained of minor injuries and was evaluated on the scene by EMTs, but refused ambulance transport to a hospital. The other driver, also an adult male, was not injured. Both wrecked vehicles were removed by flatbed tow trucks. No word as to whether any summonses were issued in connection with the incident.
Paramus NJ, A Honda SUV traveling southbound on the Garden State Parkway (GSP) near Route 4 in Paramus on Sunday evening, 04/23, careened off of the roadway’s right shoulder, down a steep embankment, and wound up on the grassy shoulder of Route 4 westbound near an entrance ramp to the GSP southbound. Witnesses reported that the vehicle completely flipped over at least once during the crash. Paramus PD, FD, EMS, and Rescue Squad personnel all responded to aid the driver, who was transported by ambulance to Hackensack University Medical Center’s (HUMC) main campus with life threatening injuries. A paramedic team from HUMC also responded to the scene. The crash is being investigated by a trooper from the New Jersey State Police GSP Patrol Division, Bloomfield Barracks.
Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Police issued one (1) summons in connection with a two (2) vehicle crash at the intersection of Grant and Lake Streets, Ridgewood on Thursday afternoon, 04/13, that sent an SUV up onto the lawn of a nearby home. RIdgewood PD, FD, and EMS personnel responded to the scene. One (1) driver sustained a minor hand injury but refused to be transported to a hospital. A flatbed tow truck removed the damaged SUV; a Mercedes sedan involved in the crash was able to be driven away on its own power. Midland Park PD assisted at the scene with traffic control.
Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Police, Fire Department, and EMS personnel aided two (2) victims of a Monday morning, 03/27, motor vehicle crash that took place on Route 17 southbound just north of Linwood Avenue, Ridgewood. A pickup truck rear ended a van; two (2) occupants of the van were transported by separate ambulances to local hospitals with non life threatening injuries. A flatbed tow truck removed the van from the scene. The pickup truck appeared to have been undamaged. Traffic flow on Route 17 southbound in the crash vicinity was significantly restricted, which caused major backups.
Ridgewood NJ, A Porsche SUV was totaled when its adult female driver smashed into a utility pole in front of 239 Lakeview Drive, Ridgewood on Monday evening, 01/23. The driver was uninjured in the mishap. Utility service in the neighborhood was unaffected by the crash, but damage to the pole warrants its replacement. A flatbed tow truck removed the damaged Porsche from the scene. One (1) summons was issued by Ridgewood PD in connection with the incident. Midland Park PD assisted at the scene.
