Ridgewood NJ, a mechanical malfunction may have caused a vehicle to slide partially off a flatbed tow truck on Thursday evening, September 12, as it was being towed through Ridgewood. The incident occurred when the tow truck made a turn from northbound Paramus Road to eastbound East Glen Avenue.

A late Friday afternoon hit-and-run incident on June 21 led to the arrest of an adult male DUI suspect by Ridgewood Police patrol officers. The suspect, driving a black Nissan sedan, allegedly struck a parked, unoccupied Hyundai SUV on East Glen Avenue before continuing westbound and mounting a curb at the corner of Northern Parkway.

Ridgewood NJ, a mother and her toddler were shaken up but uninjured when their Volvo SUV collided with a landscaper’s small dump truck at the intersection of East Glen Avenue and Northern Parkway, Ridgewood just prior to 10:00 AM on Saturday morning, 06/17. One (1) motor vehicle summons was issued by Ridgewood Police in connection with the crash. Ridgewood Fire Department and Ridgewood firefighters/EMTs responded to evaluate the victims, and to mitigate a crash related fluid spill. The Volvo was towed from the scene.

Ridgewood NJ, two (2) students being transported from Midland Park to Paramus on a mini school bus escaped injury when their bus collided with BMW SUV in Ridgewood late Wednesday morning, 01/25. The crash occurred just after 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of East Glen Avenue and Northern Parkway. Neither driver involved in the mishap was injured. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Ridgewood Police issued one (1) summons in connection with the incident. Ridgewood Fire Department firefighters were dispatched to mitigate a crash related fluid spill.

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Police issued one (1) summons in connection with a Monday afternoon, 11/21, two (2) vehicle collision at the intersection of East Glen Avenue and Van Emburgh Avenue, Ridgewood, in which the driver of a 4-door Toyota Camry sedan involved in the crash had to be extricated from her vehicle by Ridgewood firefighters. The victim was transported by ambulance to Hackensack University Medical Center’s main campus with non life threatening injuries. A flatbed tow truck removed the damaged Camry from the scene by a flatbed tow truck. Washington Township Police assisted with traffic control.

Ridgewood NJ, the driver of small box truck escaped injury when he crashed his vehicle into a utility pole on East Glen Avenue near Van Emburgh Avenue, Ridgewood on Monday morning, 06/13. Ridgewood Police, Ridgewood Fire Department, and Ridgewood Emergency Services personnel and vehicles responded to the incident. Motor vehicle access to and from the Glen School and several nearby homes was disrupted by the incident for an extended period.

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood residents got their first look the Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Design Assistance Program on August 12th .Lets hope these improvements are more soundly implemented than the “suicide bike lane” and traffic easing disasters of the past witch created dangerous congestion for Ridge school and Ridgewood School students .
The “suicide bike lane” and traffic easing disasters were driven by grant money with little thought to their practical application ,in the real word.

Ridgewood NJ, as previously reported on this blog the Ridgewood police report that on October 16th an East Glen Avenue resident responded to Ridgewood Police Headquarters to report a fraud. The victim reported an envelope containing a check was placed in a mailbox on East Glen Avenue but never arrived at the intended destination. The victim later discovered the check had been cashed unlawfully without her consent. The victim notified her bank and the account was closed.

Ridgewood NJ, A utility pole became unstable on Wednesday morning, 09/26, as a result of excavation work associated with the construction of a new 7-11 store at 657 Franklin Turnpike, Ridgewood. Ridgewood Police closed portions of Franklin Turnpike, East Glen Avenue, and an entrance/exit ramp to Route 17 southbound until workers from PSE&G were able to replace/stabilize the pole. No injuries were reported in the incident.

Washington Twp NJ, No injuries were reported by the lone occupant of a passenger vehicle that careened off of East Glen Avenue in Washington Township on Wednesday evening, 11/15, across the lawns of two (2) homes, through a picket fence, and into the back yard of a house located on nearby Madeline Court. The vehicle was winched out of its predicament and removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck. Washington Township Police responded to the incident.
