Celebrate July 4th at Veterans Field!

Ridgewood NJ, Join the Village of Ridgewood on Thursday, July 4th at Veterans Field for an evening of fun, entertainment, and fireworks! (Rain date: Friday, July 5, 2024). Gates open at 6:00 PM, but please note that all patrons and their belongings will be subject to security checks by the Police Department. For a smoother entry, there will be two lines: one for those with bags and one for those without. Please expect some delays, and remember that gates will close at 9:00 PM.

112th annual Ridgewood Fourth of July Celebration Monday, July 4, 2022

Ridgewood NJ, please join us for our annual flag raising ceremony in Wilsey Square at 9am on Monday, July 4th followed by parade beginning at 10am.

The theme of this year’s celebration is:

“Let Freedom Ring”

This year as we celebrate the history of our great nation, we want to highlight the importance of freedom for all.  “Let Freedom Ring” is defined as “A statement that the ideals of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness should be spread across the Earth and allowed to flourish.”

NJ State Police Deploy Additional Patrols Statewide for July 4th Holiday Weekend

West Trenton NJ, the New Jersey State Police would like everyone to enjoy their holiday weekend as the State continues to open after the COVID-19 pandemic. With residents celebrating Independence Day for the first time in two years, we understand that everyone wants to reconnect with family and friends whether at a barbecue, driving to the Jersey Shore, or spending time on the water. We would like everyone to dust off their safety playbook and give it a read before heading out for the holiday weekend.

On this day, 244 years ago, the Second Continental Congress voted to adopt the Declaration of Independence. Even though they had already declared independence two days earlier, the American people were so moved by the Declaration that thereafter July 4th became our birthday. Happy Birthday America!
