East Rutherford NJ, in what East Rutherford Fire Department is calling the first incident of the New Year, at 230 am January 1st , East Rutherford Fire Department responded to an accident at Al Di La, a restaurant on Hoboken Road and Enoch Street. The vehicle, a Dodge pickup, had crashed through the wall and into the restaurant .

Ridgewood NJ, It’s New Year’s Eve and Americans are ready to say good-bye and good riddance to 2021.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that only two percent (2%) of American Adults rate 2021 one of the best years ever. Another five percent (5%) think it was an excellent year and 16% rate 2021 a good year. These numbers are dwarfed by the 48% of Americans who give 2021 a poor rating. Ridgewood NJ, Chinese New Year, also referred to as Lunar New Year, is the Chinese festival that celebrates the beginning of a new year on the traditional Chinese calendar. The festival is usually referred to as the Spring Festival in mainland China, and is one of several Lunar New Years in Asia.
The Chinese New Year, or Spring Festival, has more than 4,000 years of history and is the longest holiday of the year. In the 21st century, the national holiday begins on the first of the Lunar Calendar and lasts until the 15th of the first month. In 2020, Chinese New Year begins on January 25th and ends February 8th.

Ridgewood NJ, Village Hall, The Stable and all Village offices will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on December 31, 2018. Village Hall, The Stable, all Village offices and the Recycling Center will be closed and there will be no sanitation or recycling pickup on January 1, 2019, in observance of the New Year’s holiday. All Village offices will reopen on January 2, 2019 at 8:30 a.m. The Police Department, on the second floor of Village Hall, will be open on this holiday.
