Fort Lee NJ, The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey expects nearly 5.5 million travelers across its facilities this Memorial Day weekend. To accommodate motorists traveling between New York and New Jersey, all ongoing repairs and construction projects at its crossings will be suspended from 5 a.m. Friday, May 26, to 5 a.m. Tuesday, May 30. A separate travel advisory for any lane closures or service changes for the remainder of that week will be issued next week.

Ridgewood NJ, A record of more than 20 million travelers are projected to use the agency’s airports, tunnels, bridges and PATH system during the upcoming 16-day Christmas/New Year’s holiday season. To accommodate the projected heavy volume, the agency has put measures in place, including a full complement of staff – customer service representatives at its major airports and police officers at all facilities and toll collectors at its tunnels and bridges – to make the holiday trip as smooth as possible.

Ridgewood NJ, Following today’s winter storm and nearly 3,000 flight cancellations, LaGuardia, Kennedy and Newark Liberty Airports are expecting significant vehicular traffic on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Due to the severe weather, roughly 99 percent of all flights at LaGuardia were cancelled on Tuesday. Many flights on Wednesday are already fully booked, and prior to travelling to the airport, passengers are urged to call their airlines. Travelers without confirmed flights should not come to LaGuardia, Kennedy or Newark Liberty airports.

All passengers heading to LaGuardia, JFK and Newark Liberty are advised to use mass transit including the JFK AirTrain, EWR AirTrain and Q70 LaGuardia Link.

The Port Authority has an on-site Traffic Command Center at LaGuardia that monitors traffic conditions and deploys staff and resources where necessary. Airport traffic conditions are regularly updated and communicated via social media Facebook, or @LGAairport on Twitter and LaGuardiaAirport.com.
